Absolutely. It's not been a question of if, but when. I would be shocked, literally shocked if it indeed didn't exist and was not released before Shenmue 3. Dumbfounded even.

Honestly, I'd prefer nothing until Magic Monaco. I think they should take the time to prepare polished, professionally edited video packages for the masses to chew on.
Definitely not worth a rush at this point. However, I'd rather they do another reveal at a big show like GDC. No idea why people keep putting Magic Monaco on a pedastal. As far as I know nobody but Frenchies give a shit about it. When Shenmue III had hat big demonstration at Magic in 2016, major outlets weren't reporting it at this point the game needs a nice showing. So fuck Magic as far as I'm concerned.
We got a little Thanksgiving nod last year, so I would think we'll at least get something around that time, even if it's just another tease.

Switch has a new blog post out about the Amihama bus route, which is an interesting read. His blog is always a great read. It never gets less astounding how deep the game is.

I got my Dreamcast working again so I might play Shenmue 1 and 2 around Christmas. I missed playing them last year for my tenth anniversary since becoming a fan. I'm looking forward to it. I'm not sure what type of goal or play style I should go for this time, though. I'm open for suggestions. I've done about everything in both games so I'm not sure how I should play them this time. Hmm, one thing I've never really messed around with is the slot house. I just never cared.
Absolutely! His insights into some of the games more delicate quirks really show the lengths to which Yu Suzuki went in regards to detail with Shenmue. It's something I overlook a lot especially whilst playing the first. With the new Passport disc hack, i was messing around in the character bio pages and just can't get over the amount of data in there, in relation to NPCs you may not even come across in a play through.
I was chatting with Switch the other day about how much more material he can possibly squeeze out if these games for blog material, and he said there's actually s lot of topics and insights he still wants to cover, so it's great to have his blog, Blues blog and the podcast to keep us going in between what updates YSNET put out.
Hmmm, good idea. Especially for 1. I guess in 2 I'll just explore more. That game has so much shit to find. There are some really rare convos and I sometimes miss them because I kind of play Shenmue way too fast these days lol.

It's because the producer of Shenmue runs MAGIC, so it's kind of expected they show off something. And if they show off something, it's better something polished.

Suzuki-san has already changed the logo. It's really grown on me and I like it.
I still really like the look of Shenmue. It's visual style has dated nicely I think.

I really liked the gold classic logo they went with in June. I actually find the Japanese version of the new logo to be very nice, but it just doesn't convert well to English alphabet styling.
I wish someone would convince Suzuki to use his Japanese version with the classic logo below it for western releases.

I love Shenmue as much as the next guy (tbf probably more) but YS making such terrible design choices is worrying.

I agree. I wish they'd use the classic logo but I've really warmed up to the latest one though so I don't think of it as a problem like you do.

I'm not, but I could be wrong. I thought Yu Suzuki was indicating they would start the real advertising campaign in early 2018.
All that was mentioned was that, "promotion would ramp up in 2018", so I doubt it. Deep Silver will be there showing off Yakuza 6, Kingdom Come, and offer the chance to play Agents of Mayhem, just because...
In my last playthrough of the 1st I tried to finally fill Ryo's notebook after wondering how much content/clues I'd been missing out on over all of this time.
Turns out it was just mostly Fortune Teller clues -_-
One thing I just couldn't do was get the entries during the dojo basement segment. Tried a few different things I'd read online and still nothing...
Next playthrough I'm gonna collect every capsule toy for the first time (raffles always trip me up) and hopefully try to completely fill the notebook again.

Also, what was the last update on if any of them were going to be doing voice work on Shenmue III? I remember hearing that Corey Marshall was hoping to voice Ryo again, but I don't remember if we have confirmation or not that he got the job yet.
Just thought I would share this old Game Sack Lucky Hit parody. Normally their humor is pretty lame to me but I think they nailed the feel of Shenmue so hard here.
I had a friend who would want me to put on Shenmue II specifically just so we could play Lucky Hit/do the part-time Lucky Hit job. He loved it that much lol.
Been saying from the beginning that I'd love less updates, or none at all. Let them work on the game, and hit me with it when it's ready. Any Shenmue fan will be well experienced to handle a little bit more of a wait, compared to a decade and a half of waiting.
