No. Because we all know being #1 for weeks on digital sales is a bad financial sign. Like ... What? You're most likely right but given Xbox international performance that's not quite a great financial sign.
I was honestly expecting Detroit at #1 or #2 with GoW occupying the other spot. Oh how ResetEra is a bubble!
But OnLive launched last generation.
Clearly the Xbox version of SoD2 isn't going to perform as well in countries where Xbox doesn't have much of an install base. Believe it or not, shocking news. You're most likely right but given Xbox international performance that's not quite a great financial sign.
Yeah I had to bail early doors playing SoD2
I adored the first but two hours in my brain was just screaming nope at me.
But who do you think, by and large, is playing Donkey Kong and Mario Kart? All these games that are primarily aimed at kids have to be bought by their parents - so why is labo so special?
Sorry I might be confused - when you say streaming, are you talking Twitch or PS Now? If the former, then yes I agree.
Could someone explain to me why GamePass is mentioned when discussing how well certain games do? How does that affect sales?
Xbox had it's best May but its sales are nothing to write home about:
PS4: ~223K
NSW: ~167K
XB1: ~145K
SoD2 did great. GoW actually launched last month.

But that's wrong. Just making shit up now? CoolSoD2 did great only in the US. Other places it was pretty meh or outright bad
I believe Days Gone will sell even less cus it's not co-op, it's a new IP and it lacks GP marketing push
I mean we were talking about word of mouth, not stopping sales. Tons of Bethesda games are examples of buggy games doing well sales wise.
Yeah we'll see.
Hi Benji. Can you explain us... How? Like, it makes no sense how a fixed, low priced subscription is beneficial to anyone but consumers, unless the business is set up in a very innovative ways. Definitely curious.
If you're a Game Pass subscriber, you get the game included in your subscription, so why would you buy it?Could someone explain to me why GamePass is mentioned when discussing how well certain games do? How does that affect sales?
The same situation appears again as another MS exclusive SOT also disappeared in Magicpork's leak before...
So why only and always MS exclusive? what Magicpork got was wrong or incomplete?
Japan, Spain, Germany, Australia and UK charts.Do you have a source for that claim or are we just randomly talking out of our asses again?
Every country I checked the game was or even still is #1 in the most purchased Xbox Store charts. For weeks. Both the standard and ultimate editions.
Ok that is what I was thinking. It's pretty amazing that at a reduced cost AND being available on GamePass, that the game still managed to be #1.I think it's just an interesting observation: although a game is on game pass and available via subscription, the individual sale numbers are still very high. I guess people expect that as game pass becomes more popular, the sale numbers of Xbox exclusives would reduce.
There is an excuse - you don't have to. It's fine without it. It sells fine without it.Hope State of Decay 3 will be an actual AAA polished game now, there's literally no excuse not to do it, game is popular.
Exactly. It's based on how many consoles are in the wild. So yes ,we can still say it did well. You're most likely right but given Xbox international performance that's not quite a great financial sign.
Yes I agree then, clearly a massive impact and led this generation by the built-in video sharing abilities on both PS4 and XBO.

I'll explain this again;
Labo is aimed at people who have no money of their own.
It is bought solely to be gifted (outside of the number f adults who want it who do have disposable incomes, who bought at launch).
Its sales ceiling per month is basically as birthday presents for kids that have birthdays that month.
Christmas is different, because it is the equivalent of all kids getting an extra birthday that month.
This is how 'big' toy sales work
Lol back to this argument (I agree with you though)
Super impressive showing for SoD2. Hopefully this leads to more great stuff for Game Pass.
Forza Horizon 4 is gonna be massive.
My hunch is a rather simple one in the end. Exposure. Game Pass puts the game potentially into far more people's hands than it other wise would have. This is going to convert some people into purchasing it outright that are already GP subscribers in case they eventually unsubscribe. It's also, probably more importantly, having those GP subscribers inform their friends about the games they are playing and they are then going out to buy the game themselves, even though they aren't GP subscribers.
So this means the GP model is only benefitial until it reaches an "optimimum Max User Count" that once passed starts the cannibalization of retail sales right? My hunch is a rather simple one in the end. As a creative kid, I would have totally preferred Labo to either of those. That said, I still would have had massive disappointment that I didn't get something decent instead like Lego Technic (I was obsessed with Lego Technic).Imagine being the kid that gets Labo instead of Pokemon or Smash during the holidays.

Yep. Now the real fun part is to start thinking about Streaming and Game Pass. If Twitch weren't a thing, would Game Pass be as (hypothetically for the moment) good at selling full games?
How many streamers streamed Sea of Thieves or SoD2 because of having it in Game Pass? How many sales did those streamers help generate?
I can see a strong case being made that Streaming and Game Pass are symbiotic in a not small way?
