That sort of "critical mass" is likely, but I'm under the impression that FH3 already outsold GT Sport (both in total sales and also relative sales since launch). I'm trying to think who would be best to ping for a data point on that. Did you mean the franchise cumulatively (all-gen)?
The same situation appears again as another MS exclusive SOT also disappeared in Magicpork's leak before...
So why only and always MS exclusive? what Magicpork got was wrong or incomplete?
Forza Horizon 3 is way ahead of Gran Turismo Sports. It's "not even close".

And everything points to Forza Horizon 4 only becoming even bigger.
I believe GTAV will still be on the NPD when PS5 arrive.
Gamepass will still be less expensive, have backwards compatibility from the Xbox and 360, have deals for the games on the service, and have first party games launch day of release.Rumor has it PSNow will allow for PS4 downloads soon so it looks like they are going to morph that into their game pass.
Does MS not have to pay 3rd party developers to put their games on gamepass? Not sure how the business side works. I know Netflix and Spotify spend most of their revenue on content from 3rd parties.
In this thread, yes I think so. Should be close to the situation in the US though, where the Xbox install base ratio compared to PS4 is only higher than in UK.
"They" think it states what the best-selling SKU in the market is, which is quite meaningful, especially for those looking at velocities and optimization.
That's the silver bullet. Seems inevitable. All Microsoft have to do is merge Gamepass and Xbox live together
You offered to get weird, so heres an ask for next month (though I suspect the relevant data is not for public consumption):
I would love to see a ~45 day chart of hardware/software sales to see the trends that occur right before E3 then right after. A combined one is fine, but broken up by console would be neat.

All Microsoft have to do is merge Gamepass and Xbox live together and it will implode even more when everyone has access to Gamepass. Sony can't do that with PSNow when it already cost 20 dollars a month and don't allow for Backwards compatibility. Gamepass is and will be a better deal.
"Sure, reorders will be made as stock sells through. I don't get the shipping argument. Labo in the context of a big box retailer isn't more expensive to ship or move than the average product. That seems... oddly specific a complaint.
Game Pass increasing sales instead of the opposite is just hard to grasp as a concept for me even though there is actual data that suggests the case. I was wrong about both SoT and SoD2 so I hope I'm wrong about this too.Online focus + well polished game + game pass + easily streamable game = banco. I expect it to be even more impacted by Game Pass than SoD2.
That would be amazing. Unfortunately, I only see monthly buckets. Which is a bummer.
I don't understand why they would waste money and buy the games though. They are not demos...they are FULL games. Plus with bing rewards its easy to pay for your games pass monthly fee for free. The only games pass game I'll actually "buy" over the next 3 years in Halo Infinite because Halo is my most beloved franchise. Everything else I'll play for free on the service.i'm thinking people try out the games and after decide to buy them. Seems to be definitely affecting sales in some way.
I find it very unlikely SOT and SOD2 would have done so well without it.
Is there even a sliver of a hope that you guys might one day get to weekly charts?
yes Day and date In the release day WW and All of their Next games will be there as wellDo MS published games appear instantly on release for game pass?
I will never get these kind of posts... Talent won ? Arent the other devs on top or way down the list not talented too ?
Big publishers won lots of money, thats it, Nintendo big time with 3 ports.

One interesting note is that State of Decay 2 was only $30 but still managed to top the chart which is ranked by dollar sales. So very impressive considering every other game in that list retails for around $60.
It's the full game, unlimited time.Oh wow that's cool. So is it a limited amount of the play time like the EA Access early play thing where you only get to play a set amount of hours for a new release?

I was expecting this to happen at E3 tbh. Maybe next year.
If it's that easy to sell games why aren't we getting a new zombie game every month (or more frequently)?
Days gone probably won't bomb but a big difference is is that State of decay has co-op/mp and so does dying light. The co-op aspect helps more than zombiesWoah at State of Decay 2. And some people still think Days Gone will bomb.
Wow , gamepass is helping sales
Edit. Referring to Phil Spencer's comments abuout gamepass users buying behaviour and influence
Digital and game pass sales not included .
These retail only Holyshit
Yes I know that, what made you think I didn't? I'm also talking relative.
Should it? Has it been as heavily bundled here as it has been in the UK?In this thread, yes I think so. Should be close to the situation in the US though, where the Xbox install base ratio compared to PS4 is only higher than in UK.
no You play a full Game without limit at all Until your subscription expires....Oh wow that's cool. So is it a limited amount of the play time like the EA Access early play thing where you only get to play a set amount of hours for a new release?

Digital full game sales are included. No game pass revenues included.
And we haven't even seen any serious price cuts yet. That would ensure another huge surge in current gen console sales. This gen is easily going to continue strong performance into 2020.Everybody had their best May. And ppl think new consoles are coming next year lol
That doesn't make sense, it's a Microsoft IP, it shouldn't need negotiation. This is wrong. Thomas said this was simply because the deal for Ori 2 was made before Game Pass first-party launches were a thing. It simply isn't negotiated yet (and it's unclear if it will).
