Just got out as well. I loved it as well. I can see some of the elements people might not have liked. But this movie basically did everything I wanted it to outside being a full Dino Crisis movie lol.

The fact that we finally got dinosaurs on the mainland. Black market genetics, and addressed the elephant in the room of human cloning is amazing. I can't wait to see what is next in store.

Just got out and it was fantastic! Really loved how they increased the horror aspect much more than previous movies and the plot point about the granddaughter being a clone was fantastic. Also the next movie is going to be wild!

Really, really liked it. Having just marathoned the whole movie series the month before I thought it fit right in with the rest of them in the "enjoyable" camp. This movie made me wish even more than the San Diego section of the Lost World did not happen, because I can only imagine this ending would have been more powerful if it was an actual "What if?". To me, the horribleness of the T-Rex in San Diego kind of took some of the novelty out of it.

My girlfriend cried multiple times throughout the movie, and its rare for a movie to do that. I think the Baryonyx was my favorite character, shame we didn't get more of him.

I thought the movie worked best when it was playing up the horror side, although the Indoraptor being an almost literal mustache twirling villain was a bit much.

Watch this video. She's been actively avoiding spoilers for this movie. She was basically able to guess the entire plot down to how the Indoraptor dies without even seeing it. Man, I can't wait to see her reaction when she comes back.

I'd be more impressed if she posted this a month ago. The movie has been out for like 12 days and the plot has been on Wikipedia longer than that.

Wow. This was just about one of the worst films I've ever seen. If I see another glorified dinosaur screaming scene, I'm gonna lose it. Way to kill this franchise...

Just got out. It wasn't awful but it wasn't good either. While the first one was dumb fun, this one was just dumb. And there's a clone girl why exactly? I'm guessing they're gonna do something with her in the next but seriously why? The only scene I really liked was when the Indoraptor was creeping into little baby Lara Croft's bedroom. I love the way the camera followed its gaze. That was cool.

Just got out. Fucking loved it. Loved the elements it introduced to the franchise, and the direction it seems to be heading. Especially with regards to human cloning, and the catastrophic danger genetic power poses to mankind. It really felt like something Crichton would have come up with had he done a third book, then had it been adapted into a blockbuster. I'm really not getting all of the complaints, which seem way overblown now. And I love that the dinos are getting more characterization. Stiggy was excellent, and Blue was everything I was hoping she'd be. The Raptors are, and always have been, the stars of this franchise. It's about time they made an actual character out of one.

Gonna see it again on Sunday, I'll hold off on ranking it till then.

Saw it with MUFFIN. tonight and had a blast. There were a few short nitpick moments, so I'll get those out of the way:

- Owen flopping away from the lava was way too silly.
- The hunter opening up the cage. Come on.
- Claire and Franklin not noticing there was a ladder in that room until the absolute last possible moment.
- I wanted Goldblum involved in the film's actual arc but I already had a feeling it would just be a cameo so it's not that bad.

Honestly, it has issues. But it was really damn entertaining, especially once they hit the mansion. It was really well directed and had some of my favorite shots in the series. The shot of the island as the boat is pulling away was amazing and I teared up a little. And I loved the scene underwater. Even though I knew they would all survive, the way they framed it as one long shot made it incredibly tense. Just a really interesting scene to watch.

I also love that the dinosaurs have been given more characterization. The Owen/Blue relationship was cute in the original Jurassic World but felt truly earned and heartfelt in Fallen Kingdom.

And despite my complaints above, I think it's a good thing that the movie embraced the silliness a bit. I mean, that ending is insane. And I loved it. When I was a kid, that is exactly the type of scenario I imagined happening after seeing the original film. I've never looked forward to a sequel to Jurassic Park as much as I am with Jurassic World 3. I honestly have no idea what the story will be and that's pretty exciting.

I will say this: it's perfectly set up to bring back Goldblum for a larger role as well as some of the original cast. I would love to see how Alan and Ellie react to the world being overrun with dinosaurs.

Just got back an hour ago from watching this.

It was entertaining.

Needed a little bit more Chaos Theory talk from Ian. Made me miss Michael Crichton.

Grant could totally be in the next one, they don't have to come up with a way to get him to the island anymore... the dinosaurs came to him lol

I really didn't care for this movie. How many times are we going to see T-Rex run out and eat a dinosaur that was about to eat our heroes?

The only other time I can think of where that happened was the first film... unless you count Jurassic World but really they let it out of its cage in that one.

This movie is a mess that clearly displays why Monster Hunter is a thriving franchise while Dino Crisis is a dead one.

The front half is fine but the Resident Evil inspired back half is a trainwreck.

Only Trevorrow could be so much of a hack as to write that "they're alive like me" sequence.

Especially since her being a clone is given fuck all of significance to the movie. A couple splots of remarkably lazy foreshadowing, a quick reveal, and a verbalized recap of the reveal 15 minutes later, while literally never once establishing what any of it means for her, how she feels about it, the greater implications, etc.. I don't use the word "amateur" lightly, but that exactly what this movie is. It would get torn to shreds in any 100-level writing course at a barely-accredited school.

You take the words right out of my mouth on why I hate that twist

You can remove it and it would mean nothing, she can still release the dinosaurs because she's a naive kid and the bad guy would still try to control her because she's the heir of the company and being her guardian gives him legitimacy or he doesn't want to kill a kid

It's so lazy and half assesd

I didn't like that line. I liked the moment itself but it didn't need any dialogue at all. "They're alive like me" was basically hitting the audience over the head. They shouldn't have shown her beforehand either, as it made it obvious what was about to happen.

The scene should have simply had Owen and Claire looking out at the dinosaurs with sadness on their faces, only to see the door open. The camera cuts to Maisie, with her hand on the button. No dialogue needed at all.

One of the most miserable experiences Ive ever had watching a movie. There wasn't a single redeemable thing about this movie. Not a single scene I can point to and say "yeah that was good" or even "that was kind of good". I was just bored out of my mind for the entire thing and I couldn't stop checking my watch for what felt like an eternity. It wasn't even so bad its funny good either which is what I was at least hoping for. It was just dull and boring.

I say this as someone who enjoyed the film: if Universal is smart, they'll rethink their plans for the third one. And by that, I think they should move away from Colin. I hate being negative like that as I don't exactly want someone to be fired. But the story potential in Jurassic World 3 is really damn good and I truly don't think Colin can pull it off.

I would look for a different writer to continue on the path that the ending of this film stared, perhaps keeping Bayona on board as I thought he did a really good job.
