NES Classic returning June 29

walmart seem to be getting a ton of them. Lineup by 9pm and you'll be fine.
Did they say what time they would sell the Classic? What about 24 hour stores?
I still remember the fiasco from the SNES Classic where a local Walmart said they were going to sell them on midnight only for a massive line to be told two hours later that it was a miscommunication.
If you wanted a NES Classic, now's the time to do so. I just saw this at my local walmart (Lauderhill, South Florida) and I'm going to pick one up. They have extra controllers too. Check your Walmarts!

Guess this means they are cancelling the free nes classics that are part of Nintendo online service

I'm not sure. When I tried to purchase it, the NES Classic itself wouldn't go through. The Cashier said it said "Sale not authorized" or something along those lines. The controller went through but the console didn't. He said he could go through customer service to check it out but I doubt it'll go through. I may have to come back on the 28th.
Edit: Attempt failed. Customer Service didn't know why it wasn't going through (but I did). They said the reason was "recall". So I'll try again in a few days, so you may need to watch your Walmart like a hawk. But If I were to guesstimate, my Walmart had around 8 or so.
Edit 2: Since I was able to get the extra controller, the cord is still hilariously short.

Once again I must caution you with my story, where many people were promised over the phone that a local 24 hour Wal-Mart would sell the SNES Classics on midnight.
It was incompetence on the highest level. Lots of people were angry and almost looked ready to riot.
That said, I'm real tempted to call some Wal-Marts now, but I don't really want to waste the drive only to find out they won't override the transaction.
To those picking one of these up, do yourself a favor and pick up some Wii extension cables for the controller. Will make your life much easier and worth it for the like $7 they'll set you back.

Playing NES games with a SNES pad is so wierd though, with where A+B moved.
To those who successfully pick them up, tell us what you did to convince them to do an override.
This is true. Or use the SNES pads if you've got the SNES Classic! They work.
Got my new NES Classic last week. So happy to finally have it! Really glad they made some more.

Brickseek says the Walmart closest to me has some NES controllers in stock. I might roll over there before work tomorrow to see if they're already out being sold
For those who are successful in buying a Nes classic on friday, I highly recommend you buy one of these. I pretty much use this and an original controller and don't bother with the controller that came with the classic.
I'm still searching for an SNES Mini, so I highly doubt I can find an NES Mini when it launches later this week.
You in the US? Check Best Buy's website. My three local stores have them available for in-store pickup.
Any news on if there are more filter options? I much prefer the SNES Classic's CRT/TV filter that doesn't have the distortion/noise effect.

They've actually done a good deal of restocks on SNES Mini since it released. If you really keep an eye out, you can find one.
Check your local EB Games. I saw one sitting on the shelf at EB (in toronto) on thursday.

Have the SNES classic. Don't think I'll be picking this one up. Although my "Nintendo Collector" in me might say other wise since they probably won't stock it after this year. Plus I'm more excited for online NES games coming for the Switch later this year.
