I have to resist the urge to install / play this, even though Mario+Rabbids has been one of my 2017 GOTYs ... i wanna save it up for the 20 hours of transatlantic / transpacific flights i have coming up in July. But this looks sooooo good.

My only (admittedly minor) gripe with this game is the fact that you need to manually pick up coins after golden shots ... that's just so dumb :/

when upgraded to full, the coins automatically fly towards you. Nonetheless, it's literally seconds of work. it's not that hard xD

"upgraded to full" ? You mean golden shot PLUS?

That's news to me.

It's still annoying having to "sweep" the area after a golden shot - i feel like it hurts momentum just a tiny bit.

I'm gonna buy the standalone DLC once it is available on the eshop. The new campaign looks great.

Any impressions on challenge for players who got 100% on the base game? Slightly worried that this will be a breeze with all other characters fully upgraded.

They reset all your skill points and weapons for this DLC, and its treated as starting a new save so your progression from the main game won't carry over.

I so far have finished two of the DLC's "worlds". If you beat the ultra hard challenges then this DLC is nowhere near that, I think something like World 2's difficulty from the main game is a good comparison point. The most interesting challenge comes from some of the new enemy classes that you have to chase after, and how Donkey Kong's mobility and options will change your tactics up.

Also there may be post-game challenges in the DLC based on a few things I saw, but I won't know until I finish it.

Excited for this! My physical edition is actually European but I typically make purchases via the American eshop. Does anyone know if I purchase the DK DLC on the American eshop if it will work or is DLC region locked?

IIRC you play with new characters, this is a separate campaign in the main menu that doesn't take into account your main save.

Cool, thanks. I don't mind it being on a par with the base game (which wasn't too tough), just pleased it's not easier. It being standalone sounds like a good reason to jump in.

Got back into the main game a few days ago - Although i got a bit burned out after an intensive launch-binge i find this to be a definitive MUST OWN title. The levels are meaty and the game is a bit samey at times - but the attention to detail is sublime and so is the music.

Therefore this DLC is a certain get for me after my trip next week. Ubi and Nin should get all the appreciation for this collaboration they can get.

Will Donkey Kong be added to the roster in the main game also?

I haven't finished the DLC yet but I don't believe so. Donkey Kong's playstyle requires maps to be built around his abilities which I don't think would work with the original maps. Progression in Donkey Kong adventure is also kept on a separate save file.

I really want this to be a staple franchise for Nintendo going forward.

I'd love to see a sequel in 2019 that adds Rayman to the mix, Wario, etc.

I think I'm 78% through the expansion and controlling DK is a lot of fun. Seems like the overworld is larger and has more round edges too.

I'd like another expansion or even a new mashup of properties. What about Trials Excitebike or TrackMania F-Zero?

1080 Steep?

I don't know what's taking the eShop so long to update, but I am hoping to download this before I lose access to do so for a couple of days. I have been looking forward to this for awhile.

If you are in the US you might have to "force" the update by going into your profile then eShop settings then redownload the content. I dunno what's up with that, but it's something I (and others) had to do in order to download it and the challenges as well.

Yeah I had to do this back when I got the ultra challenge pack. Definitely annoying to figure out.

Hmm, I can either start this today, or Nier Automata on Xbox... probably going with this since I already own the expansion pass.

Oh my god screw the

*Early game spoilers*

RNG honey bombardment on level 5. Think there was only 1 turn when I didn't have at least 1 of my characters honeyed, most turns were 2 and that 1 turn that all 3 were hit was excruciating. Of course barely any of the enemies were hit. Serious case of AI screwing with you.

Can't believe that I got a perfect taking 7 turns, I think they knew that it was screwy so they were quite lenient there.

This website says that the DLC can be played by up to 2 players. Is there really 2 player content? Are there more co-op challenges? If so, how many?

Edit: Tweeted Davide Soliani. I'll post if I get a reply.

Amazon sent me the EU version of Fire Emblem Warriors, and I was able to buy and use the season pass on the US eshop without a problem. It worked in that case, at least.

I'm pretty sure that challenge has spots on the ground that are marked to show where they're going to drop, the only times I got hit were when I wasn't paying attention. Also, DK can cure super effects by grabbing teammates, and Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Cranky can both get the ability to cure super effects by team jumping, so it's not that difficult to keep everyone clean.

Co-op update:

"@DavideSoliani Does the Donkey Kong Adventure DLC have 2-player content? This site says it does, but I can't find any other information. https://e3.nintendo.com/games/mario-rabbids-kingdom-battle-donkey-kong-adventure-dlc-switch/ …"

I came up with a DK crossover with The Division called Gorilla Warfare. Make it happen Ubisoft! Let us fire our Coconut Guns in spurts!

I know this DLC is its own separate thing, but does it add anything into the main game either by default or by completing the DLC itself?

Doing some of the challenges after story completion and I just can't figure out some of them. With maximum movement, I always find I'm one short of doing anything, such as having a DK panel literally just out of reach. I just can't work it out

I forgot to mention I reported a bug, where if you run too fast across this when it unlocks, a block will return to its original position and you'll get stuck.

Do we know what the performance specs of this DLC are? Docked and undocked? Does it still have the soft fuzziness the main game has in terms of resolution?

This is really fun, but it's so easy! I hope it gets harder. Just did the mission where you destroy the 3 stashes of BAD BANANAS or whatever. DK is OP as fuck!

Just finished the main campaign! Super enjoyable experience overall! I had a very fun time taking the challenge of getting every collectible and scoring perfects on each level. All that remains are the challenge stages which I'll tackle next.

Will I be overleveled if I start the dlc levels from my endgame savefile (already beat the boss)? I noticed that the extra challenge levels can also be too easy/hard depending on when you start it so I'm wondering about the dlc.

Nothing get carried over from the main game, so it doesn't matter when you start with the dlc

Beat the first boss. That was fun but it still feels super easy. I'm not a huge fan of how it went back to tutorial mode basically for the start of the DLC. Kinda wish the entire thing was designed with the expectation that people playing it will have already beaten the base game. Would be nice to get more challenge right off the bat.

Doesn't matter because this is a new side story you access from the title screen with its own save slots.

Is there any way to narrow down where the puzzle pieces are? I have two left to find and haven't got a clue where they could be.
