I just remembered that the best part of a new RE coming out is the possibility of new SIKSHADOW remixes. He's an obscure channel so no one probably know what I'm talking about.

This is exactly what is happening, as evidenced by the Japanese title and logo of the game, Biohazard RE: 2.

The "RE:" moniker is very popular in Japan to indicate a remake (KH Re: Chain of Memories, KH Re: Coded, etc etc), and they're highlighting the "Resident Evil" name at the same time. Honestly it's as smart as the logos for RE7/Bio7.

Indeed. It's a perfect title for the remake.

With some of RE7's animations being reused, would it be possible for this game to have a first person mode?

I get the idea for the "RE" being highlighted because of the Japanese title/naming convention of remake/redue being "RE". Knowing that, shouldn't the title be "Biohazard 2: RE" instead of "Biohazard RE:2"? the name by itself makes it sound less like a remake of Biohazard 2 and instead a second remake of Biohazard 1.

Yes he did, it was obvious. What sucked for him was that in the story canon the POTUS of 1998 had to resign after the incident as the public was outraged at the missile strike. This was because the zombie/viral outbreak was covered up.

That's the only reason why I asked too because I had read the president resigned over it.

Also I just wanna say if they redo RE3 please take out the section where Jill finds the only cure...awful writing there.

However speaking of that would be an interesting concept for the game umbrella creates a cure for the rich and people are unrest over it

What was the official reason given by the government to the public for Raccoon City's destruction? I can't remember right now.

No. When the Japanese use Series Title RE: Game Title it tells you which game is being remade. In the examples I gave, Kindom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories tells you it's a remake of Chain of Memories in the KH series. In this case, Biohazard RE: 2, it's indicating that the game in the Biohazard series that's being remade is 2.

It's just Japanese naming conventions. The fact that they're highlighting RE as a little nod to the Western name of the series is just a unique thing to this particular series and a neat addition from Capcom. The Japanese series is still just Biohazard.

Radioactive waste outbreak if I recall correctly. So people were pissed at a missile being fired at something like that and felt it made no sense.

Thanks!

When you consider both RE1 and REmake are "canon". I think it's fine with the remakes being how they are.
They never really do anything which is so drastic that the canon is in need of fixing. They typically add to rather than take away from.

This really reminds me that the "canon" is so clunky. With Rebecca and Barry unable to survive at the same time for RE1 despite that being canon, with all four scenarios having canon scenes in RE2, with RE3 and Outbreak presenting the RPD in a completely different state to RE2, Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles throwing everything out of the window and having RE1, RE2 and RE3 complete games where Chris and Jill, Leon and Claire and Jill and Carlos surveyed their entire games together, the canon is a bit of a mess.

I'd be happy with the remakes being a new timeline but I'm not too bothered, the story is basically all known it just seems like the games individual journeys are different.

I thought Wesker was a bit cool in Umbrella Chronicles.

But yeah, his RE5 interpretation is my favorite of his. D.C. Douglas brought a lot to the role honestly, and Wesker fit very well into what RE5 was.

Not that people are in a massive rush to buy this but if you are thinking about getting it and you're using Windows 10 I'd advise against it. I couldn't get it to boot even with all the workarounds they have on the steam community forum.

RE2 rookie Leon will always be my favourite. RE4 and RE6 Leon are OK, but there are things about the both of them that I dislike.

RE4 Leon is a perfect balance between dork and badass, who arrived right on the cusp of nerdiness being rebranded as cool. He'll always be the best iteration of the character.

It's a weird one because the characters of RE are mostly meh. If I had to say the main character I've most disliked in the series it has to be Chris even though he does serve a purpose. I guess it is easier not to like Chris though because it feels like he has been a recurring character for the highest number of entries (I think?) and seems to have had very little character growth in that time. My problem with the characters in general is that some characters who had a lot of potential to develop further have never been delved back into. Sheva from RE5 was actually a bright spark of that game and I'd like to see a title where Sheva isn't essentially treated as 'side chick' but gets to lead the game in her own right, I think there is a lot of potential for her as a character, not to mention I would love a PoC actually getting more than a single game in the franchise. Another character they are much more unlikely to revisit is Rebecca who I think it would be interesting to double down on her efforts perhaps as an aid worker in BOW territories to help people and being caught in a crisis etc. This series has so many bases for great characters but never quite delves deep enough.

Do you guys think the president made the right decision to blow up Racoon City?
I hear it wasn't his decision, that the strike was ordered by national security advisor Derek C. Simmons to destroy some sort of evidence and that he's also the head of the Illuminati! The President was the fall guy. This comes from a reliable source, my Uncle who works at the White House!

The English isn't perfect, but i prefer it in multiple locations.

I believe both RE0 and RE2 have lines for Rebecca and Claire respectively about not being able to push, pull or drag stuff with only "woman's power". I know that men are stronger than women on average, but that's just such a stupid way of putting it. The English localisations just say that it's "too heavy" or "won't move".

You have both outed yourselves as dog haters. You should be ashamed. Nobody should have known the answer to my question. Nobody.
lol. In my defense when I first played the game several years ago I didn't notice the dog in the first playthrough. But as soon as I noticed in the next one I helped it. And it helped me with a boss fight. Pretty cool.

You're evil.

Good doggies are good. I'm sad now :(

Hey the first play through I helped the poor dog out which paid off so nicely. Resident Evil 4 is one of those games where u see a situation and think hmm what would happen if I did this??
Like with Del Lago when you shoot the fish. You just wanna try everything to see the outcome and that is the only reason why I had shot it one time.
