Gunplay feels fine
Ammo/Health system isnt as annoying as you'd think
Revives are even more rare now, might be an alpha thing. Animation sucks.

My main gripe is that the soldier models look really similar at a glance and without 3D spotting things get crazy

You have to give details.

Well, they seem to like more CoDish gameplay if 4 is their favourite. This seems to be slower paced, with scarcer resources so...

If this really feels more like pre-BC Battlefield, I am elated. Anyone have any opinion about that? If there's any of the old guard playing the alfa, that is...

I would say BC2 is the closest analogue. It's not 1942 or anything, there's too many modern conventions in there. The pace is still pretty quick compared to the old days. But it isn't as spammy as BF1, which is nice.

The UI is normally a strong part of a BF title but here it's super weak. If you set an objective, all the other flags disappear so it can be hard to navigate and to check the progress of things at a glance unless you look up at the top. It isn't done yet. It needs a lot more refinement.

The "new" scoring system is great, had several comebacks already.

Aircraft seem totally pointless, I haven't been killed by one yet.

My favorite thing so far has to be looting enemies for ammo. I wish you'd get a little health too.

1. Agree, but nothing to worry about there. ;) That part of the UI has been improved immensely in newer builds. Other objectives won't fully disappear, but be slightly more transparent when an order is given. Thanks for bringing it up though.

2. Thanks for the feedback.

The minimum GPU requirements confuse me. Isn't 660 GTX kind of long in the tooth by now? How is it comparable to the 1050? Feel like I'm missing something here.

The medic subclass with the MP40 is very OP in the right hands due to the self heal, like Battlefield 3 all over again. I feel like it undercuts the other, more tactical classes. I like the medic having access to a wider range of weapons but this one in particular feels incongruous with the rest of the game. I was not afraid of anything because of the DPS combined with the ability to heal. The limited range never really came into play due to the abundance of cover.

The regen on the health/ammo packs feels a touch too long, it's really a bummer to have a guy ask you for ammo, wait patiently, and then you have to type in chat that you are on cooldown at the moment.

I've been w atching streams, I wouldn't get my hopes about this feeling like pre-BC BF... the gunplay, map layout and TTK looks very similiar to BF1.

In my book there are a few different types BF gameplay. What does this feel like?

BF1942, BF1943, BF2, BF4 or BF1?

I skipped the others on purpose because I can't remember how they felt off the top of my head.

After playing for about 4 hours now...I can say I really hate how slow it is to get back in the fight after you die and all these unnecessary animations are really rubbing me the wrong way..Medics are no longer reviving because of how long it takes...You jump from a ledge and they add a falling animation...Why -_____-

Any ini editing tips from the apparent EA/DICE folks in here? I had to catch a plane away from my home rig and am trying to make a laptop with a 1060 get this anywhere near 60fps, and with no options for gfx, I am hurting. I feel like disabling effects and shadows would go a long way....

Played a few rounds...wow. This might be one of the best BF games and i played all of them. LOL at the people whos saying this is a BF1 reskin. Its nothing like that. I love the slower pace, the low ammo, the revive anims, the gunplay/recoil and the almost no 3d spotting is making this even more amazing. God i cant wait until release

Options -> Video -> Advanced, top bar, the UI might be a bit unclear at the moment, so it may be slightly difficult to see on first glance.

The squad system in combination with the respawn, reviving and limited ammunition systems. Wow. It feels so good. Really helps rewarding team play in a squad.

Gunplay and TTK feel good to me, definitely faster than the classic Battlefield games, but it feels fine. Haven't had a chance to play too much, but the initial impressions were good.

Thank you for being a part of the discussion!

(Oh, and by the way, you could hint to your people that a Finnish skin or something like that would be hugely appreciated, would happily pay to have a proper looking soldier! )

That would be great - as that is my favourite era of BF. 1942 -> Bf 2142

If we could return to the gameplay of those games i would return to battlefield games in a heartbeat.

Nice to see others that appreciate the old Battlefields! They just lost something when they made BCs. The series haven't been the same ever since :(

EDIT. Of course the series is more popular now because it has embraced console players, but us PC players can feel a little lost at times.

Thank you too for your impressions!

I'm sad to say I have to agree with you. I've played the BC's and pretty much every new Battlefield game, but always find myself longing for the days and gameplay of the older titles.
That's not to say the new ones are bad, they just feel to me like they lack that classic Battlefield gameplay. Focus on teamplay is also a lot less, which I hope this one will change for the better.
There's nothing like dominating a conquest map with a kick ass squad behind you.

So is the TTK terrible fast like in current Battlefield 1? I really freaking hated that change

I think the snipers are doing too much damage but overall i would say TTK is slightly higher then BF1 but i would like it even higher if possible as it is still too quick in my opinon, especially with long revive system the way it is.

After hating BF1 this feels 100x better, cant wait to actually play on local servers instead of 180ping.

Once Windows decides to update my damn PC, I'll finally hop on to play. There isn't an NDA in regards to streaming, correct?

I bet some people are mistaken thinking the TTK is very short because they're forgetting there isn't any regenerating health.
