But like I said, the additional boxers would make good assist trophies. It's unfortunate that Punch-Out!! currently doesn't have an AT because there's lots of potential options to choose from:

Glass Joe: obvious joke assist trophy, who wimply throws out weak punches and gets KO'd far earlier than the other assist trophies
King Hippo: big and powerful, but the catch is that he can only be KO'd by hitting his weak point on his stomach
Great Tiger: teleports around the stage, distracting and tricking opponents with his Rushing Magic Attack

Probably not. I think Ridley will be the only character with over 8 alts.

I base this on Pit. Pit lost his neon turquoise and purple alt and had it replaced with a Cupid alt. Instead of just cutting it, though, they just smooshed it together with his pink alt.

If there was the possibility to have more than 8 alts, there wouldn't have been a reason to combine the two alts together.

I think if Punch-out got another boxer in as an AT (no character makes sense as a Little Mac Echo due to proportions), Bald Bull makes the most sense. He's been in every game to date, even the arm wrestling spin-off and is probably the most iconic boxer in the game except maybe Glass Joe.

Just to summarize -
Ashley is a bad character choice
Shadow is a worse character choice
Dixie can't be an echo
Rhythm Heaven and Chibi-Robo deserve more representation
Goku is a Weiner
Demon Arino Shinya for AT

Instead of wishing for certain colour choices, wish for the ultimate request - custom colours! Then not only can you have Fire Mario, you can have Ice Mario and Flying Mario and Cloud Mario and Wario Mario and...

Dixie, K. Rool and Captain Toad are the last 3 A-listers left. If Dixie really doesn't get in after Tropical Freeze than Sakurai's obvious bias and hatred of modern DK is pretty blatant. I bet he only likes "Jumpman DK"

I guess I just saw the red one (and the yellow/green one) and assumed they all were.

But every character except Ridley still only has 8 alts. I do not feel confident at all that this is not the case.

K Rool currently isn't an A-lister. Also lol. Nothing suggests he hates modern DK.

Since when is Captain Toad an A lister?

He's either cameo'd in real Mario games or had 1 budget game release, on top of never appearing in any Mario spin offs.

He's a cool character and probably could get into Smash, but calling him an A lister is a little much.

Shadow's Assist Trophy is missing, and instead there's a new Knuckles assist trophy that's a lot more complicated than Shadow ever was.

Speaking of Knuckles... something I noticed in that HD footage I posted last night, was that Knuckles has his own run animation, but most of his other animations are ripped right from Sonic (other than his Knuckles' attacks). Since that's pretty much the only change Shadow needs, and they did it for a minor Assist Trophy, it seems like there isn't really anything stopping Shadow at this point, other than being a third party, I guess.
