Hopefully it's only high dragonfly which is locked. I barely use that aerial suicide in competitive play. If his other stances are affected by meter ( regular dragonfly, flea, meditation) then that would suck.
Super Dragonfly had a lot of utility. You could restore health, use two different unblockables (one that wasn't a suicide), drop down with a tracking move, or use it as a mix-up with DGF. The fact that it's Soul Charge only removes a lot of Yoshi's mix-up options.
He has normal Dragonfly, Flea and Meditation without using Soul Charge, but many attacks from those stances have changed. I didn't get a ton of time with him at E3, and there was no move list, but as I recall his guard break from DGF is now an EX move, he's gained the double jumping kick from Tekken, which now transitions into DGF, but the old mix-up is gone. DGF K is also changed so that it no longer juggles on normal hit (as far as I could tell).
I couldn't charge the headbutt out of Flea, so I don't know what's up with that, and his life restore from Meditation now builds meter instead of health. His old 3B is now 88_22B and the new 3B still launched, but I think it won't be used in the same way and seems unsafe (I didn't test it though).
iMCF is gone, you don't get anything guaranteed off normal MCF (CH or not), so I'm guessing the EX MCF is back. So you'll probably have to spend meter to get the old iMCF stun, which is stupid IMO, but whatever.
Like I said, he felt very foreign to me after maining Yoshi in SC4 and SC5. It may just be some notation changes, but until I have the game in-hand with a training mode and move list, I won't be able to say for sure.
We're definitely getting a reveal in July, and a reveal at EVO in August.
I think the story mode stuff revealed this month was all that we were getting this month, as we're pretty much at the end of June now.
In July, I think we'll get the reveal of Astaroth, and at EVO, I think we'll get Tira as she was the last character to win at an EVO. It's either her, or Cervantes, since it was Tira vs Cervantes at EVO 2012.
None of the previous reveals seem have to been planned around anything other than, "this character was ready" so I don't think Namco is thinking far enough ahead to give us one of the characters from the Evo finals at Evo. I don't even think most people remember or care if that were to happen. They just want to see their character confirmed.
I remember this stance used to drain yoshi's health, I guess this is to balance out the fact that He can't regenerate health from IND and MED in this game
personally, I'm more concerned about his supposedly "EX Moves" gimmick, I hope they didn't lock all the good stuff behind it.
I'm expecting iMCF to basically be EX MCF now since iMCF is gone (or has a new notation).
