Your Mom
these vids are all funny, including the dog/crocodile one because that's one stupid dog

FYI butterflies live between 2 days and 2 weeks. Many insects spent nearly all their life as larvaes

lots of people have a really weird Disney-fied view of nature and somehow skip over the constant killing and dying in uncountable numbers part. A barn owl needs to eat at least six mice every single night to survive

That's my view. We live in a world where all life needs to eat other living things to survive. Literally billions of life forms die every day. It's natural, something alive eats something else alive to survive. I know it's good to be considerate to other life, especially as we're top of the food chain, intelligent, and have a responsibility to give back and be compassionate to other life on Earth. But death and eating other life is part of our ecosystem, no need to demonize a very natural thing.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but dogs are annoying. They're cute and fun to pass by while walking (when they aren't incessantly barking) but having a dog around, it's only a matter of time before they fuck something up, which is of course exactly what they were waiting for.

Went over to my mom's house with my baby, usually I would get him out of the car seat and have everything accounted for in my mind, but my mother raced for the chance to pick him up. I'm sure that's how his favorite toy was neglected for one second instead of put safely away, and the fucking dog snatched it. To be fair I can't prove it, but that's the last time I saw it and I know that fucking dog.

Not letting cats off the hook either. I have a cat that rarely makes noise but occasionally goes nuts meowing like a scratchy dying old woman and when becoming affectionate , will do this clawing thing that will ruin your clothes, one that talks like a human saying 'hello' when you're trying to do something quiet like put a baby to sleep (and it chews wires), and one that's always getting into trouble and eating plastic bags and harassing the other cats.

Happens to dogs too if you're an idiot.

Don't watch unless you think the circle of life is hilarious no matter the animal. Wouldn't have ever seen this if some random person hadn't shared it on my Facebook.

Idiots (people in vid)

What the hell is wrong with the people letting their dog do that? If it kills people, it'll kill ya dog.

The world would be better off without butterflies.

The dog one isn't funny to me because of the total disregard for the life of their pet that the owners show.
A competent adult should have done something to get their pet out of obvious danger, but these morons instead decide to film it and laugh until their dog is dragged towards a horrible death.

This popped up in my Twitter feed, and I immediately thought of this thread.

I am half amused and half sad at the videos in this thread. Except for that stupid kid. Would give him up for adoption ten times out of ten.

This thread just does nothing but prove that I'm a "monster" for killing spiders, flies, and mosquitoes. Well done.

Get the hell outta here with that nonsense. Do you gently shoo away mosquitoes after they've had their fill? Do you cry every time you leave the house for all those helpless insect souls being crushed under your feet?

I know someone who does actually. And she's a grown adult. Some people are sensitive to that kind of stuff

...that's why you train dogs. And what dogs that are trained incessantly bark?

None of my dogs or my family's dogs act like that cause we trained them for years.

The video in the OP, the gator video, and the kid biting the bird are all equally funny to me.

Nature is fucking stupid and it's hilarious. That dog had nothing to gain from bothering the gator and its owners are morons for letting it continue to do so.

So dogs are annoying because you only seem to know about examples who weren't trained?
The dog we had for 13 years didn't bark besides some very low-volume woofs when approached by people in the dark when outside (was scared before she could recognize them as normal humans), never destroyed anything, and even worked with handicapped children and chilled with strange cats when left with my uncle while we went on vacation.
A well raised dog has none of the problems you mentioned. She was even trained not to go upstairs or downstairs, meaning we didn't have any extra hair to vacuum besides the ground floor. Ours even worked with severely handicapped children below the age of 5.
On the other hand, I know a dog that keeps barking WITHOUT STOPPING when there are guests (="strangers"). It's all training.

The video in the OP, the gator video, and the kid biting the bird are all equally funny to me.

I don't feel the same way about the gator video because it's not "just nature", it's a distinct lack of human thought/empathy that lead to this. It's not a little oversight like the butterfly video, and it feels like a failure on the owner's side, as to me, it's the owner's job to keep their dog from doing stuff like that, just like they'd stop it from running into traffic. And the danger was just as obvious here.
