I think it will only give Tempered Lunastra ones, so if you want normal ones for the extra reward boxes (to get gems) it might not be the best way. I'm 100% sure it can give you Tempered Lunastra investigations, though.

Do a Nerg investig 50 minute. Every 10 or so minutes, throw on the Guile Mantle, go to Nerg, pick up the 100 million tracks, repeat. If you need reg Lunastra, do reg Nerg. If temp Luna, do temp Nerg. Should have a couple after that.

Killed AT Vaal a couple times tonight. I didn't really do anything different, aside from allowing him more space and taking my time. It wasn't fun really and I got no good loot. I think I'll just get the tickets and be done with him.

Hey guys I took a break for a couple months after I burnt myself out a bit, but I'm ready to jump back in. Are there any major changes that have taken place?

I can read the patch notes if I need to I just thought I'd check here first

Deviljho and Lunastra are the new monsters in the roster. Behemoth (Final Fantasy crossover) is coming soon.

There's an event for Arch Tempered monster, currently Vaal Hazak.

Always hate that shit. Whenever monsters use their charging attack towards area edges and you are unfortunate enough to be there, you're definitely going to have a bad time.

Good luck, took me 1300ish rolls to get all decos I wanted (and by that I had all) lol. It's a relief not having to worry for decos though, makes set building actually fun. Now we just need some good new content...

I see that we got a free token or whatever that would allow a "sex change" on our character.

P sure I'm going to utilize that and go female because they get the better looking armors.

I don't ever remember seeing that "No tomorrow for usurpers" quest with Bazelgeuse before. Is that a new one? I wonder if there will be any special rewards for it...

Yeah, there's a couple new ones: No Tomorrow For Usurpers, Midnight Mayhem, and Gajalaka Outbreak. Some of these will be the fest-specific rewards, so we shall see what is what!

They need to buff the grimalkynes, these guys only last 30-60 seconds against Arch-Tempered Vaal Hazak. It's annoying to constantly go back to their spawn areas to recruit them.

Also when are we going to get new Palico gadgets? I would love to try something new.

Ok so what did I miss? I stopped playing after Sakura event. I'm farming AT Vaal at the moment, from what I have seen I need 5 tickets for armor and 2 for layered armor. I know there is Lunastra with new armor and weapons and I know there was AT Kirin. Did I miss anything else? Were there any more events with new gear/weapons/layered armor sets etc. Any new major changes to the game itself?

Any of the current arena quests gives anything special?

I'm male Hero again, thank you Capcom for the tickets for gander change. Even tho I enjoyed playing as a female for some time, I prefer male armors after all lol

Damn, I just need one more Vaal ticket to get everything and I can't get into a hunt where people can survive. I suppose I could do the hunt by myself but it's more fun to me co-op

I was about half-hour into a solo kill Friday night when my my family joined me in the living room, and 2 of them got into a big argument. It was just enough distraction to cart me a couple ties I about 2 minutes.

Any good way to get armor spheres besides bounties? I'm basically out. I know the rolling with the uragaan quest will be back for the summer festival, but anything better before that?

You can always farm tempered elders. Two minutes runs if you have cluster build. You get decos, streamstones and armor spheres. You can also accept bounties for killing large monsters, specific location kills and elder kills for even more spheres. At least this is what I do to farm them.

During the summer fest, there will be daily limited quests that, if completed, will award the top tier armor spheres that have a MASSIVE amount of armor points for upgrading.

Edit: whoops. Beaten.

I saw a notification on my PS4 about a summer event.

Last I played was roughly around the spring festival I think? Before Dark Souls remastered came out. I hunted that gold monster whose name I already forgot but that was the last update of note that I recall. Apparently I missed a new monster (Lunastra?), arch-monsters (or something? stronger than tempered?), anything else of note?

Wondering if I should jump back in for that summer event, and also I'm guessing Behemoth is coming soon, I remember seeing that at E3.

Behemoth is probably coming after the summer event, but we should definitely know via an announcement on 7/15. Summer event starts 7/12. You are correct in the major things you've missed: arch tempered Kirin and arch tempered Vaal (both wih exclusive gamma armor sets) and Lunastra who is now a permanent addition. She has some pretty amazing weapons with built in skills.

What is arch-tempered specifically? Just more HP/damage, or something else?

Thanks.

They just hit harder, have more HP and a bit different attack patterns. Vaal is more aggressive and the fight starts in a different place his miasma also hits harder. I haven't fought Kirin as I was late for it but Vaal is just a pushover as he always was. Vaal also offers a new Layered armor (death stench) and new Gamma set which is really awesome. Lunastra also offers a new armor set, new layered armor ( Brigade armor), new weapons and a new mantle. Vaal will be available for one more week and I'm pretty sure both Vaal and Kirin will be back with summer festival.

More hp/dmg plus Krin has difft lightning patterns, Vaal is fought in different places. Definitely very difficult, most random groups can't complete them.

So, arch-tempered is basically like G-rank? Honestly it sounds tedious though. My character gets OHKOed by a lot of attacks from regular "tempered" elder dragons (I don't think I ever beat, say, tempered Kushala or Teostra yet), I can't imagine even trying to last a minute with something that hits harder. :\

If you can make a health regen set with health regen aug on your weapon you don't even have to heal during the fight. It might take you a bit longer to kill it vs dps build but you won't have to worry about taking damage.
His set is really good tho so it's worth give it a try.

If you're comfortable with avoiding regular Vaal's attacks then he's honestly not that hard. Like H3rTz DoNuT said just make a set with health regeneration and you'll stand a good chance.

So I recently got a switch and plan on getting Generations. World is the first MH game I've ever played. How much of a system shock am I in for?

Kind of a lot. There are a number of QoL features implemented that will possibly turn away newer/more casual fans of the series. There's a lengthy Gaijin Hunter video on this exact question I suggest looking up.

Here are some big changes

No scoutflies so you have to find the monsters yourself and hit them with a paintball in order to track them on the map.

Skills now have point thresholds you need to reach instead of activating automatically. For example in order to get attack up small you need 5 points in the attack skill instead of just 1.

The maps are not interconnected so there will be a (very quick) loading screen in between each numbered zone. This actually makes getting around the maps faster.

The loading screens in general are much much faster than the loading screens in World.

There is no sliding on hills (and of course that also means there are no sliding attacks)

Each weapon actually has six different movesets.

You can't change gear or access your item box while on a quest.

You can't eat while on a quest.

The game doesn't scale at all so the multiplayer quests are still scaled for multiplayer if you do them solo.

The endgame is much more difficult

Thanks for the responses. I watched the Gaijin Hunter video and honestly none of that sounds too bad to me. I'll have to get used to prepping more and it sounds like it gets pretty grindy but I'm ok with that

4/7 Hazak Tickets. Hazak's not been giving me too much of a problem, providing I can avoid his Decay Beam.
