A team that has only conceded 2 goals in 4 matches (zero in three of them), won the group, beaten Mexico 3-0, helped eliminate Germany, and is now in the QF, is "incredibly poor"?
I'll give you that Sweden's offensive qualities are not much to write home about, but they do exactly what they have to in order to win matches. It's working.

I think if there's one thing England has (first team) it is the ability to score a goal. I'd predict Colombia (and Sweden maybe) will have to score more than one to beat England.

So, if you shoot at the goal, straight towards the keeper, and a defender gives it a nudge, so the keeper is caught on the wrong foot, it is not an owngoal, even if the keeper would probably have saved the shot otherwise. When the attacker shots the ball wide, or crosses it in front of the goal and a defender nudges it in the goal, then it is an owngoal.

I was 14 years old the last time Sweden got this far in a World Cup, I still remember staying up at night watching all the matches. That was 24 years ago. Crazy!
I don't think Sweden have a lot of great players, but they seem to work great as a team with a solid defense. If Sweden actually had some technical players that knew how to score goals on a regular basis, they would be far better off I think, they missed some huge chances this match. But somehow, they manage to squeeze by anyway. Beggars can't be choosers I guess. lol
