This episode was doing pretty good until that fucking kid opened the gate. That way they keep bringing the whole "kid fucks up badly" plot device is seriously ridiculous by now.
It's also so dumb that they keep using plot points that require stupid shit to happen for them to work.
- There was no one guarding the infirmary because then the zombies wouldn't have gone outside.
- They needed to have the mansion front door open otherwise the zombies couldn't have gone in.
- Nobody noticed the kid with the gun because otherwise he couldn't have set the prisoners free.
They could come up with much better ways to make this stuff work, but it feels they aren't even trying.
On the good side, I enjoyed most of the action scenes, and even with how stupid it was, it was nice seeing the zombies being an actual threat again. I do agree that the inconsistency with how long people can turn is a bit frustrating, but I can live with that.
Saviors literally bring knives (*and other melee weapons) to a gunfight, they all herd together closely in one big group right in the middle of an open yard, with Simon loudly whistling and giving away their position. Should be easy targets, right? Suddenly the Saviors are blinded by bright lights and getting shot at from above with machine gun fire raining down... Yet barely any of them get hit. Come on.
Yeah, that part was incredibly dumb, specially since Simon had told that other Savior just seconds ago to keep it quiet.
