Norman Reedus by the sounds of it is being positioned to be the leading guy after he leaves. Not sure how that will work.. but ok.
With Maggie, basically, gone and with Rick leaving.. I'm quite honestly hard pressed to even care enough to bother. We all know Rick is gonna go out in the dumbest way - See: Carl.
I don't think this leave is "story driven", otherwise it's probably something that wouldn't be reported.

I like Daryl...but I cannot see his character leading the show, he was always a support character for me. The only other character I could see taking over would be a (redeemed) Negan. Losing Rick is fairly massive though and I would be surprised if the show gets a 10th Season, this will have a massive impact on ratings.
How would they even try and redeem Negan? Is that even possible?
Yup, still not a very good show IMO, but the quality is above and beyond the last three seasons of TWD without a doubtFinally catching up on Fear the Walking Dead, about halfway through season 3.
This is so much better than the past three years of The Walking Dead.

I'm on S3 right now and feel like the momentum built via the end of S2 was completely deflated. But I'll keep watchingI actually disagree. Season 3 is legitimately a good show and I'm enjoying the character interaction with the new characters.
Season 1 was a disappointment because they skipped over the most interesting aspects. I wanted to see the damn outbreak, not have a multi-week time skip. That was a terrible decision.
Season 2 was good but it had ups and downs, mainly in the first half. I thought the second half was very solid. The ending to the season was weak but the brutal nature of the Travis and Chris story near the end was very good. It also reminded me a bit of season 4 of The Walking Dead where everyone was split up in the second half, which I enjoyed quite a bit.
lolSo Lauren Cohen is also leaving after 6 more eps. They really just need to wrap it up next season, AMC had a good thing and just slaughtered it.
On the topic of Fear, season 3 is fantastic, I haven't watched S4 yet but I've heard it's like a different show and not very good either. Which sucks.

That's really good to hear. Thanks. I really have to get caught up so I can watch as it airs.
I remember reading a few negative posts about it, and articles even, but only titles. But this was probably 2-3 eps into the season. I didn't dig deeper as I didn't want to get spoiled.
There are definitely things to be spoiled too, so keep avoiding those articles! There are only two episodes left this mid season, so you should be able to binge the whole thing before not too long.
I imagine they will be spacing out a little smarter that that. Alternate between Alexandria episodes and Hilltop episodes so they can keep Rick and Maggie around for the whole season.
I'd argue we have seen that already - fear the walking dead. I would say that is nowhere near the regular show's peak yet despite not being "held back" by carryover characters. To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what a Rick- and Maggie-less Walking Dead looks like.
They'd be better off with Danai becoming the lead but she's on her way out too, right?

My biggest fear though is that they'll see ratings plummet and decide to combine both shows into one and Fear (which had a stellar season 3) will end up being pulled into that shit sandwich.
I just fear losing this many critical characters at once could be a huge blow. I hope I'm wrong though, I just want Fear to continue being good and I have little faith in the main series ever being good again. That isn't going to happen (they miiiight do something like that, maybe, in Fear's final season?), but it won't be any time soon. Remember, The Walking Dead is far and away the #1 show on basic cable (ratings could fall by another 2/3 and that would still be the case) and Fear the Walking Dead is also in the top 5.

Sums up the show pretty nicely, goddamn.
Death Stranding though?Real actors are leaving the show to reap new opportunities, while Norman Reedus desperately hangs on to the only important thing he's ever done in his career. Lol he knows he's done after this one.
