Thursday night's ratings:

With X-Files coming back January 3rd (and looks awesome: https://youtu.be/VV5-vvNPnLo) I am hoping someone does a nice official discussion thread for the show. I am also curious to see if the show will return with high ratings again as it did with the last event series. Still the season looks like it's going to potentially be great and I am excited for that. :)
Yeah I watch the Superhero shows and Riverdale and mostly consider those shows dumb fun with the occasional flashes of higher quality episodes and some decent quality seasons.
It does look fun, but there doesn't seem to be nearly as much hype as last time. I don't see much discussion, there's not too much ads and marketing (I see way more ads for that other Fox show 911), the video views are pretty low, etc. I think it's going to underperform big time unfortunately.
So we have live + seven-day ratings (basically, ratings for shows that include delayed viewing from DVRs, Hulu, viewings on networks' individual websites, etc.) for the week of Dec. 4 through 10. We only get about 30-ish shows from network and cable each because TV by the Numbers releases them in the form of "total gain" and "percentage gain" instead of just ranking them by highest live+7 demo ratings. So I typed them up because I find weird projects for myself to do like that. I also made separate lists adding the last known live + same-day ratings for shows that aren't on those live+7 lists and put asterisks next to them to indicate that they're probably a little higher in the live+7s but not by a lot.
With the cable shows, I stopped when shows got less than a 0.3 because damn there are a lot of low-rated cable shows.
Anyway, I think this gives an interesting picture at what people are really into as far as TV goes these days. Enjoy.

I thought season 10 was OK, just disappointing. I wonder if this is going to be actually the last one, or if they're going to continue by putting Mulder & Scully in the back.
Yeah, I chuckled when I saw that. Maybe if they cryogenically freeze it for 70+ years it will get better ratings when they thaw it out.

Saw the last 5 minutes of an episode once. It seemed really bad. I heard it's a Californication spin-off/same universe later and figured the people behind the scenes must be way different
I still cant tell what 911 is supposed to be. One of the commercials made it seem like a comedy, another a ultra serious drama what.
Looks like every Chicago show rolled into one but more bland.
IDUH (still love that acronym) was the better show of the two, though that's damning with extremely faint praise.
And hey, they're both better than Twin Peaks: The Return so they have that going for them.
Man im enjoying it but if the technology didn't reveal it, i'd swear Nikita was an early 2000's show.
It probably feels a bit dated because it is based on the movie from 1990 and is heavily influenced by its style, Division and how it is set up and works is basically straight out of that movie.
Just like James Bond always feels like a guy from the sixties despite using 21st century technology.

I didn't take it as a negative and I agree with you, it has that vibe.
If you haven't seen the 1990 Nikita I recommend it, it's pretty good and if you compare it to the Maggie Q Nikita it's interesting how much they actually took from it. I like that they didn't stray too far, it would have been easy to change everything and just keep the title and backstory but this show still feels like Nikita.
That's something I've been wondering too. She was by far the weakest character of both the main family and even the work/office cast. Maybe she'll have more room to grow/change being in the POV role rather than relegated to the indifferent oldest daughter role. I didn't think the backdoor pilot was terribly good, but I'll definitely give it a shot.
Because she's the right age for a Freeform spin-off... I guess?
