Heh. Thanks for the update.

Good on Sony.Basically, Sony is trying to get NBC to renew both Blacklist and Timeless, but NBC wants only Blacklist, so it's stuck in negotiations.
Wait so Kiefer had contractual power to fuck the show at his own whims? Geez of course the show was cancelled if they can't keep a showrunner and the expenses were about to jump up.
L.A. Confidential, the show "Too good for network". Where it will end up, who knows.
These kinds of clauses aren't uncommon for lead actors. But yes it is fucked up that these kinds of dumb stipulations made by one actor can screw the entire show and everyone working on it.Wait so Kiefer had contractual power to fuck the show at his own whims? Of the bubble shows, Lethal Weapon is the priority as producers Warner Bros. TV are trying to hammer out a deal with a new star before Monday's upfront presentation. (Should that not work, Fox would renew the studio's DC Comics drama Gotham instead, sources say.)
On the comedy side, decisions are still TBD on rookies L.A. to Vegas and Ghosted, with the former — from exec producer Steve Levitan — remaining in the conversation.
So, what's behind the bloodshed? To put it simply: The network's deal with the NFL for Thursday Night Football, which will take over more than 30 hours of space on Fox's already truncated schedule as the network, unlike ABC, NBC and CBS, does not program the 10 p.m. hour. (What's more, Fox also has rights to Major League Baseball postseason games, including the World Series.)
Fox's leaner scripted roster makes sense after the network landed Thursday Night Football with a five-year deal. The pact, valued at $550 million per year, signaled parent company 21st Century Fox's plans for a sports- and news-heavy "new Fox" should regulators approve Disney's $52.4 billion deal that would include assets including the broadcaster's studio sibling 20th Century Fox Television.
Returning for the 2018-19 season are animated series The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers and Family Guy (with the latter two already in production despite a lack of a formal pickup); Lee Daniels dramas Empire and Star; and second-year dramas 911, The Gifted, The Orville and The Resident. Those join five new series: genre drama The Passage, legal procedural Proven Innocent, multicamera comedies Rel, The Cool Kids and the revived Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen. That's almost half of the network's total scripted roster heading into the 2017-18 season (21 last season vs. 12 so far this year).
What's more, Fox own all 12 of the scripted series on its schedule next season.
Cancel Lethal Weapon God damn,
Wow, I wonder if that Lethal Weapon or Gotham deal is 100% one or the other without any wiggling room.
Should either Lethal Weapon or Gotham earn a renewal, it would be the lone show hailing from an outside studio (Warner Bros. Television) on the network's scripted roster.
foxFOX wouldn't preempt Brooklyn Nine-Nine would they?
They gotta air those final two episodes.
Yeah thanks Ratsky, I brain farted and had Brooklyn on at 9:30 but it's 8:30.Bob
Simpsons
Brooklyn
Family Guy
Bob
is their schedule for Sunday
WB better be pushing Gotham.Doesn't sound like there's wiggle room. Sounds like it's one or the other.
The article later says:
Can pilots that are passed on be picked up by other networks? Like, could Wayward Sisters be picked up by Netflix?
That's kind of how Parks and Rec happened.Has anyone just signed a cast and writers without the show premise and done something new? Seems like a easier sell

Would be hilarious if TNT picked it up(I know there isn't even a thought of it.)Technically, yes. But I don't see another network picking up a spinoff of Supernatural as one of the fun aspects of it would be potential crossovers.

Would fit their Supernatural, Angle, Charmed padded schedule.
Of course. I watch SHIELD out of habit, I look forward to Gotham. If I had to choose between Gotham and shield I'm going with Gotham

No, Kimmy Schmidt was ordered straight to series (with all or almost all of Season 1 filmed) before NBC decided not to air it.It happened with Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt I believe... but it's incredibly rare. More rare than "saved" shows.
for all the requests for networks / streaming services to "save" shows, how often does it actually happen? >_>

Community was by the skin of its teeth due to Yahoo Screen being a thing (and then quickly not being a thing anymore). The other most recent one I can think of is The Mindy Project when it moved from Fox to Hulu. It aired for 3 seasons on each, giving it a total of 6 seasons.
Whatever happened to those episodes of Community after Yahoo Screen died? Did they ever find a new home? They're not very good, but I still like that cast.

Makes me wonder how TGIF worked so well in the 90s. I guess time shifting killed it. But we always used VCRs back then.
what are the examples? I guess Arrested Development, but that was years later, does it even count? I cant even think of anything else. American Dad at TBS?
edit: completely forgot Community.
It's rare but I'd say it happens once a year or so.
Some notable ones I can think of:
Travelers (most recent, only a few months ago)
Arrested Development
Longmire
Damages
The Killing
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Cougar Town
Scrubs
Community
Kimmy Schmidt
Degrassi
The Mindy Project
Ripper Street

It originally started out as intending to be on NBC but NBC was afraid that it wouldn't do well since they were barely airing any comedy shows at the time. There were promos and ads for it too saying "coming this fall to NBC." This was at a time where I think Parks & Recreation was the ONLY veteran comedy show, and it was going into its final season. So, NBC made a deal with Netflix to air the 13 episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt that were already filmed and they agreed. And the rest is history.
