The format of this is FUCKING AWESOME! This goes so much harder than a traditional gauntlet match. But they really needed to explain the rules beforehand and add a countdown for the next entrant.

Ok, if they made this, their equivalent to a royal rumble, it could work. No stupid worked countdown, no rules, just make the winner with that sudden death pinfall at the climax of the match, done. This could be the most chaotic fun in this format

Basically a rumble with lots of 1v1 or triple threats instead of over the top rope/ rest in the corner until your spot is ready. Basically, the working man's rumble.

The problem is the more people you add, the more people that are doing nothing on the outside of the ring. Like not even fake fighting. It breaks down / gets worse for every addition.

It is pretty cool since it's new, though, but in the long run..

I mean, when you watch it closely, 90% of the royal rumble is also guys just sitting against the turnbuckle with another guy pushing their boot against their neck. a lot of these clusterfuck matches fall apart if you overanalyze it. if everyone was doing something simultaneously, you'd be missing stuff. you kinda have to have a bunch of people "do nothing" while the people getting focus do stuff for the cameras.

I do wonder if this is Tony Khan realizing that Swerve needs a somewhat long reign that goes past All In. I can see them holding off Ospreay winning the world title until All In 2025 if that's in Wembley again. But he could also just hold the International Title for a year until then.

Oh yeah, I agree, but this just basically does away with appearances and becomes more of a spotfest. It's more of a presentation / appearance complaint versus seeing spots clearly.

Like, once you get past that, it's better as there's more room in the ring / more visibly clear than a battle royale, but it also means wrestlers get taken out / driven out and avoid interrupting the pin a lot easier than they would in their normal matches.
