I think movie actor taking the place of professional voice actor in big projects was a problem, that impacted people life. And I think that was a better fight to lead. That's what I find ironic and I explained it.
Huh? The Jungle Book - 1957. Two of the biggest roles in the film were played by... popular musicians. so when exactly did this "movie actors/celebrities taking the place of professional voice actors" become a problem for you? Also... if the "movie actors" acting in a movie were not in said movie... and the movie never got made and all the human artists and non-famous voice actors (like David Bradley who played Gepetto who is definitely not a famous movie actor and was a voice actor in GDT's animated series vs Tom Hanks in Disney's Pinocchio) and all the voice actors who played smaller roles in the film lost that work - i feel that would impact more lives for the worse. Stop making bizzare gotcha arguments for no reason, or take it to twitter where the ppl i think you actually want to have an argument with actually are. Guillermo Del Toro is the last person who you should be calling out for not supporting art or artists or being a hypocrit on this front lol.

"AI art is actually the harbinger of the socialist revolution" is definitely a take I have read in this topic. Get this accelerationist garbage outta here.

This thread has certainly seen some of the more strange takes - From "actually supporting software over workers is the real revolutionary ideal" to "stop motion animation, which existed for as long as cinema alongside it, is actually replacing actors", and let's not forget "forum avatars are theft so you can't say it's wrong for corporations to steal your art". It's been a wiiiiild ride.

I expect this to only get worse. Probably a bit unrelated, but I wonder how schools will ultimately try to prevent students from turning in assignments made entirely/partially by AI. Like, I've even seen a couple of IG people share tips like "can't write your essay? Use an AI!". I mean, I don't see people using an essay 100% written by an AI (unless they're extremely lazy), but I can definitely see people using bits/adapting the essay. That's definitely a lot easier than writing it entirely by yourself, so I can see the incentive of doing it.

yeah, it is going to end up being a huge issue in academia.

What an absolute worm. The kind of slithering turd you have to be to think you're responsible for having created anything when you've done no more than anyone who trawls Google or Pinterest with a cursory image search.

Any potential employer responsible for reading application letters from these talentless hack cunts would be more than capable of typing a few prompts into an image generator themselves over their lunch break. Who the fuck would hire anybody to do it for them?
