I thought the same about moviepass, but everyone I know who's gotten a moviepass started seeing far more movies as a consequence, even though they were already saving money with their normal viewing habits.$20 is probably too steep for me since I only see 1 movie a month (except for the 3 months of blockbuster season, in which case it's probably 2).
Normal tickets cost 13.75 where I'm at. I'm glad to have Moviepass.I saw Solo at a Dolby Cinema, it looked and sounded incredible, but the ticket was $14. So, yeah, I'm in $20 for a month.
However, some AMCs have removed MoviePass from its listings.moviepass supporting indie theaters along with chains makes it a better deal for me. this is cute tho

I see that happening more and more now that AMC has this deal.
I remember that Cinemark had a terrible subscription plan that they came up with after MoviePass caught the public imagination.
Sounds interesting but in order to make this worthwhile I'd have to see at least 17 movies a year(if my math is right lol)...which I don't think would happen no matter how cheap I could get in for
I see. I thought it was that AMC blocked MP on some of its theaters.Uh... what? How did AMC remove Their listings from MoviePass? Are you sure you don't have that the other way around (MoviePass removed some AMC theaters earlier in the year but added them back later).
this is a fucking STEAL if you live near the Metreon in SF. every ticket is at least $20 and the imax/dolby screens are amazing.
I might bite on this.
The worst thing about MoviePass is that you can't book tickets online in advance. Sometimes the only seats left by the time you get to the theater are the worst ones. And for big releases like Incredibles and Deadpool, I end up having to pay out of pocket so I can sit with my friends and not in random seats totally across the theater.
The two AMC theaters near me are probably their top 10 theaters when it comes to cleanliness, technology and screens. I would miss seeing indie films at smaller theaters though.

In any case, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible if AMC offers their own subscription plan.
I jumped on the Cinemark program last month, but there's an AMC the same distance from me as a Cinemark; I feel like the AMC program is clearly the better of the two.
Yeah, AMC is making Cinemark look like chumps. This is amazing. Glad AMC was the first to jump into the sub game. (Cinemark's offering is weak compared to this)

No NE TN. In my area it always seemed like once another big chained opened a location the Carmikes in the area immediately became dumps. None ever really tried to keep up and AMC seems fine the way keeping them as "Classic" venues.
Same. I have so many damn Regal points.
I haven't lived in Johnson City for awhile, but is that an AMC or Carmike by the mall (I assume you are from the Tri-Cities)? You would think since Regal headquarters are right up in the road in Knoxville that the area would have more Regals.
MoviePass just announced they're adding Surge Pricing for movies the weekend of release and other peak times, $2 extra per ticket. Only applicable to monthly subscribers
Should be available sometime today. I can't wait to ditch both MoviePass and Sinemia.
This right here.I need an option to buy two tickets with a membership for me and my wife. I'm not paying $40 per month for two memberships.
LOL here in Birmingham we went from 0 AMCs to 6 within like 1 year.
