I think we could have won that game with a single change: Colin for Rza at the half. Jesse was afraid of the Chivas attack after what they did to Seattle--I'm not sure he gets exactly how good this team is yet--and so he played 5 in the back. Chivas had nothing going forward, we didn't need 3 CBs. We needed another midfielder instead. Swap out Colin for Rza and we have a much easier time going forward. Everyone at Legend's was yelling at the TV for the swap every 10 minutes after the half until he got sent off. We weren't playing our best 11 in their best formation and it showed.1-0 at Chivas when RBNY were generally outplayed and were down to 10 men isn't a bad result at all
Hopefully Kaku plays the home leg
Under the deal:
FC Cincinnati would build its $200 million stadium at the site of Cincinnati Public Schools' Stargel Stadium as well as pay for a new high school stadium in the southwest corner of Ezzard Charles Drive and John Street. The club will pay $25 million in taxes to the Cincinnati Public Schools, the full payment in lieu of taxes to the school district that any other commercial development that receives a tax abatement would make – 25 percent of the total millage on the stadium site.
"This was a non-negotiable and a game-changer for me," Sittenfeld said.
The club will donate vacant residential West End land it acquired in the northwest corner of Ezzard Charles Drive and John Street to a private developer who will build $15 million and 162 units of affordable housing there in partnership with the city. Concerns over displacement of existing low-income residents has been the primary fear in the West End regarding the stadium and something Sittenfeld said was foremost in his mind. When Interstate 75 was built and wide swaths of the neighborhood were demolished, tens of thousands were displaced
The team and the city will strike a community benefits agreement with West End neighborhood groups, the details of which are expected to include infrastructure improvements in the neighborhood, a residential parking permit program, mitigation of noise, light, litter and other issues as well as $100,000 annually in funding from the club to community groups in perpetuity.
You mean the Sacha Kljestan Memorial Tunnel at BMO field?in related CONCACAF news, apparently both TFC and Club America were fined for whatever the fuck happened in the tunnel
the one and only!
I've been hyped on this Atlanta LAFC game for days. This (and Minneosta) are the two teams I hope LAFC has a good rivalry with as expansion teams. While el traffico is a built in rivalry, I want LAFC to stretch out beyond the regular NORCAL Socal and intercity games.Atlanta vs LAFC is probably going to be really high scoring as neither have the defense to deal with the other's attack.
LAFC still has a ton of cap space if I remember right. Plus he's called Bunker Bob for a reason.I'm not too comfortable thinking Bob Bradley knows how to fix a broken defense. I mean, who thought Moutinho would be a good "defender".
Look. He's not wrong. I know I sometimes rail against the refs, but Toledo today really was unacceptable. If Blanco wasn't in the box, that second yellow wouldn't have been overturned. He would have been sent off, and we wouldn't have gotten a PK. Totally would have changed the match in a completely unfair manner very early in the match. Dwyer also blatantly dived, yet that didn't get overturned. Those are two huge, HUGE decisions. That wasn't all. There was a lot more. Paredes was down for like, over a minute and the ball wasn't played out at all, and yet he didn't stop the game. VAR can't fix bad refs.
And I'm so proud to have an owner who gives as much of a shit as he does, and is as outspoken as he is.
The team has grown so much since the first couple games. I know we're down on points, but that can change very quickly in MLS. We're suddenly looking good. I know the result is... not good, but yeah. I'll be in the Army this upcoming weekend yelling my ass off. I can't wait to be back at home.Agreed on all counts. Hopefully theteam can catch a break or two and get some points when they get back to PDX.
