I've think you will regret not getting one the second they are completely sold out for ever :P
Just get one, and you'll end up only playing on it.

Any tips on syncing a pad to the retro receivers? I have an SFC30 Pro and it will not sync to the retro adapter no matter what I do.
Have you updated the firmware on both? If so, it sounds silly, but I had to look up a youtube video for my SNES30. The amount of time you have to hold the button combos is significantly more than what was written.
This complaint bothers me because it has always looked frosted.I wish the clear version looked like it does on the website. It's frosted or cloudy instead of the clear theyre advertising.
Yeah, I went shopping also:Went shopping. Now to clean.
I don't have a problem. You have a problem. Shut up.
RPM Racing, Phalanx, Speedy Gonzales
GunForce, Skulljagger, Wings 2
Darius Twin, HyperZone, Fatal Fury 2
God dam I want the sfc flavour!
Not sure if I can hold out much longer to see if more stock arrives, tempted by the us version, anyone got it, if so how does it look?
From the pics, the SF version looks the best to me, but if I can't get that for the foreseeable future I'm thinking of going in on the SNES jr style.
Seconding a request for pics of the systems when you all receive yours.
Nice. Those are two of my favorite SNES games. Secret of Evermore is especially underrated.
Instead of shopping for an insanely expensive Super Mario RPG US cart, I'm going to try my hand at soldering a US ROM chip on to a cheap $5 Japanese SMRPG cart. Got a Yoshi's Island cart coming to me though.
Yeah, $50 is cheap. Think of it this way, 50 of today's dollars are worth only ~30 of 1996's dollars. SMRPG is a bargain!I keep hearing people mention that Super Mario RPG is insanely expensive but it looks like it can be had between $40 and $50. That doesn't seem insanely expensive to me. I was expecting like $150 or $200.

I'm really conflicted about this. I'm an SNES fan, who has a relatively "small" but nice SFC/SNES collection, though its more focused on consoles, limited editions and books/accessories than games at the moment.
I'm also really into playing in the best possible conditions, whether its for retro or modern games, always looking for the best image quality, no or negligible input lag and such. I'll never recommand My Life in Gaming's YouTube channel enough in this regard, btw.
I'll be honest, this console is like some kind of perfect achievement regarding SNES gaming to me. I really, really want to buy one as it won't be available forever, though I'm still not sure about which version I'd get.
However, I can't help but think about alternatives that would, in my case, make this purchase not really worth it in the end:
- I already have a perfectly working Super Famicom and an AD29 universal adapter which is just perfect for playing both JP and US games. It's not a 1Chip console though, but I didn't know about that when I bought it (many years ago) and it was quite cheap. Still has a good IQ with Gamecube's RGB cable.
- I have an old working CRT with acceptable video quality, and I planned to get a high quality one (one of those Sony's Trinitron models) as I love playing on CRT for many reasons.
- As much as I love playing on CRT, I don't mind playing retro games on my 4K TV (Samsung KS9000, or KS8000 in Europe) and playing SNES Classic Mini on it is just as amazing as its convenient.
- SNES Classic Mini hacking to add more games (SNES/SFC only though) is definitely an option for me. I don't have that many games to rip and add in it, but it's the same deal regarding Analogue Super NT; in any case there's still quite a bunch of awesome games I need to buy and some of them aren't really cheap, but well.
The Mini's compatibility list looks pretty decent, so for playing my collection of games on my 4K TV, it's still a serious contender for the Super NT, despite the many advantages of the latter which I'm well aware of.
- I'm still not sure if I'll play those games more (if not exclusively) on my CRT or on my 4K TV.
- In defense of the Mini's emulation solution, there'll always be the problem of dying batteries in various game cartridges.
- I know that we'll be able to use Flash carts with SD cards on Super NT so it removes the problem mentioned above (among other things), but I'd rather buy more original games, even in loose state. For some reason I don't see myself using of of these.
Well I think I've listed enough points for now. I can definitely afford the Super NT so money isn't really the problem right now. I never bought a clone console before, Analogue NT was very tempting but really too expensive.
I also wonder about the shipping/import taxes for Super NT as I live in France, but I can ignore that as long as they're not abusive. I'm interested if anyone can share his/her experience on that specific case though.
tl;dr
I love SNES and high quality gaming conditions, but I have many alternatives to get a great experience on both 4K & CRT without getting Analogue's Super NT, so I'm very tempted but don't think I actually need it.
What should I do?
Nope, gotta make one, or pay someone else to.
lol no, I didn't feel like wasting time on an auction just to get sniped at the last second. I did "Buy It Now" for $29.50 w/ shipping included. It wasn't you, who outbid me on a US Yoshi cart yesterday was it? Haha
Nice Digi 002. I'm using its bigger, younger sibling at work right now, the S6. Sucks about your receiver not getting signal from the Super Nt, is it an old one? Like pre-HDMI 1.4? If not it could be some handshaking weirdness happening that could get fixed in an update.
One of my favorite games ever arrived today also. This thing is fucking nice. Such a good picture, and it is nice to be done with the XRGB mini.
Only downside so far is that my receiver will not take a signal from it. Figured it was an HDR issue, so turned it off, and nope, doesn't matter. Absolutely cannot get a signal to my Yamaha receiver. Not a big deal, but gonna have to run a cable to my TV. Kind of a pain.

Even the controller looked frosted if you actually paid attention.
Seems relatively straightforward according to this guide, just need to get a 29L3211 EEPROM for $3, have someone program the rom on to it, get a voltage regulator and follow these instructions...For the amount of time and money you're going to invest in trying to make that repro, you might as well have just bought the US version. The SMRPG pcb is significantly more complex because of the SA1 chip. It doesn't even use standard 42pin maskroms.
Or wait for on the fly ips patching and play your sfc cart with the english script
I don't see how on-the-fly IPS patching could work with the Super Nt, it's not like it loads the whole ROM into RAM or anything, like an emulator or one of the cheap clones. It's actively running the cartridge just like a real SNES would.Or wait for on the fly ips patching and play your sfc cart with the english script
I'm sure this will come down the road and if it doesn't well just use an ufo 8 (which is super cheap)
The UFo-8 does on the fly patching and works with every special chip cart since it uses the one you plugged in to do it.I don't see how on-the-fly IPS patching could work with the Super Nt, it's not like it loads the whole ROM into RAM or anything, like an emulator or one of the cheap clones. Also, I highly doubt the Super UFO 8 would work with a SA-1 cart.

So, if I ordered Far East of Eden Zero, I could use my UFO to play it with the English patch? The UFo-8 does on the fly patching and works with every special chip cart since it uses the one you plugged in to do it.
Say you can't play any SA-1 game just by using SMRPG but you can use the US rom with the SFC cart inserted
looks beautiful!
Far East of Eden 0 seems to be a special case as far as patching and playing it go. It's not your standard ips file I thinkSo, if I ordered Far East of Eden Zero, I could use my UFO to play it with the English patch?
What is interpolation? It is on by default, but I kind of like it better with it disabled.
The difference is supposedly less noticeable in 1080p, but in 720p it's supposed to help more. It's to avoid shimmering when the screen scrolls.
On 720 p it's best to disable V interpolation, but leave H interpolation on. You'll still get a softer image with scanlines, but not blurry and no shimmer effect. Looks great!Yeah, I am running in 720p (on a 4K set with scanlines). Even standing still, it looks a little blurrier with it on. Doesn't look bad or anything, but when I turned it off, I thought it looked a bit sharper.
I think most (or all?) Canadian buyers will be receiving theirs over the next few days, so you probably won't get an answer to that until tomorrow at the earliest.Ugg. I really don't need one of these (i've got a snes and crt still) but damn it i'm worried that if I don't buy one now, when I do want one it will be even more expensive. =(
I have a question to Any Canadian who got theirs already. How bad was UPS customs fees? It's the only thing holding me back from buying at the moment. For those not Canadian, UPS is horrible for hitting you with a $50+ broker fees on top of customs fee itself. =|
I always felt the renders on the website looked much more transparent than what they could realistically accomplish, so I'm not at all surprised the final product fell short. I'm not going to say the render wasn't misleading, but a simple look at other matte/textured transparent peripherals in existence should have really have raised more common sense skepticism upfront that the final product could really hit that level of transparency.the plastic is far more clearer on their website than what it actually is.
But whatever, a minor issue that I didn't know triggered people. I like frosted.
It is a pretty modern receiver. Yamaha RX-V481. Has whatever it takes to do HDR. I figured that was the issue as I have run into issues before with that. But, even turning HDR off in it, it is a no go. This is the first thing I have run into that I can't figure out why it won't handshake properly. But, whatever, plugged it into the TV and it works/looks fucking great. This thing is seriously awesome.
Man. I have a Yamaha receiver — not the same model though. I previously had a Retron 5 hooked up to it that worked. Hopefully my Super NT will be fine.
