This will release next year for the anniversary. Not having an update right now means nothing, he just had to address it because they announced the prequel. They weren't going to immediately overshadow that with BotW2 news.
God same overworld would be so underwhelming. The joy of BOTW is seeing each new piece of that world. I'd be massively deflated if its the same one.
Its probably used as a blueprint, seemingly a direct sequel. But I doubt they're not gonna have some major changes.
I wouldn't infer any release date information from that statement. He knows people are hungry for sequel information and had to preface this Warriors announcement with some sort of statement.
They're not going to talk about BotW 2 again until AOC has been out and is selling. I'd say Game Awards, and then could release any time between March and November 2021.
They're going to go with some sort of dark world/Lorule twisted version I bet.
For real. Still haven't heard a damn thing about Bayonetta 3 despite it being revealed 3 years ago.
Was this not always the assumption? It'll be the same overworld with major geographic changes if the castle rising into the sky is any indication. Couple that with underground sections and dungeons and it'll feel drastically different.
Even though it's cliche in Zelda at this point, I'd love to see this for BOTW.

Well, that's one way to make me less interested in this sequel. I didn't know this piece of information. Guess Hyrule Warriors and Link's Awakening it'll be for me for a few years when it comes to TLoZ.
I'll wait and see but I can't lie this is disappointing on paper. I wanted something totally new instead of a Dark World type flip on the same world. Time will tell I suppose.
Cool, it will will either be released in fall 2021, or officially shown off again then and released in spring 2022
