Apple must be throwing some real money around to get these guys on board. I just don't see how it makes sense for them based on how the money is paid out.
Lost order, world of demons. They already got games on mobile that would fit well with this
http://simogo.com/work/sayonara-wild-hearts/Was that Sayonara Wild Hearts? Guess it's not Switch exclusive anymore.
World of Demons finally coming out?
They are. They're moneyhatting some/lots of them. Moneyhatting these devs short term means they can go long term on not paying anyone and say "you gotta be in this service like all these devs, or you're missing out" kinda bullshit.Apple must be throwing some real money around to get these guys on board. OK, so the catch is obviously their model. That actually sounds not bad. Kinda waiting for a catch here...
Right. I thought about that when I was covering the news. They should have at least announced some sort of specific controller. Or maybe announce an Apple TV Gaming bundle. Wonder if we'll see that later.Dam, apple devices showing graphics not possible last gen.
That fps games and ocean horn 2 look like current gen games.
Kinda odd they haven't created some decent mobile controller to compliment apple arcade.
To be fair, when has parts of Era NOT been down on mobile?Eh, I don't think that's necessarily true. One five hour long indie game played by 10 million people will still bring in a lot of money for that developer.
So much fearmongering going on here.

What about a two hour long, story driven game which takes as many resources to develop?Eh, I don't think that's necessarily true. One five hour long indie game played by 10 million people will still bring in a lot of money for that developer.

Depending on a price point, this is something I could get behind. Never owned an Apple TV, but would gladly pick one up to play some of these games (if they indeed remain exclusive and not just exclusive to mobile devices).Right. Yeah, as a bunch of people said, if dev payouts are dependent on the proportion of play hours each individual game can haul out of the subscriber base, that's only going to encourage long, grindy games. Idle games are going to make an absolute killing out of this.

And why would that same dev not make a 10 hour game instead of a 5 hour one?

Yup. I'm currently playing a gatcha game and it's so obvious that everything was designed to pad out playing time as much as possible until you pay for microtransactions.
I'm highly suspecting them to be about the already many mobile games by themI saw Platinum Games on that list so it must be something to keep an eye out for
Ahh the only good games sell well defense, EA is laughing at this right now on the way to the bank. The game still has to be good? If an indie dev makes a grindy, more boring 10 hour game instead of a tight 5 hour game, they'll get less hype, less players.

sounds like you don't have much choice, now do you? lolNah, but thanks Apple. I much rather try Stadia.
Switched to Android last year, best tech move I made.
