Keep in mind that Steam still didn't reached daily peak and that actual number of concurrent players for Odyssey right now is 47K.

Keep in mind this is Steam only and not uPlay, so the concurrent players are most likely to be more than 47k.

I bought it on steam so I'm one of those. Also reminder that only place you can have it on steam is via steam store itself, there are no steam key on any other places.

Good to hear. Origins surely laid the base for such numbers, since it was well recieved universally and a successful redirection for the series. Odyssey builds on that blueprint and delivers another great game on it's own.

Wow, I actually didn't expect that, tbh. I thought people would be burnt out of another massive AC game after Origins last year.

And this is not the final peak, it will easily reach 50k this weekend.

I was talking about the all time peak.
All time peak for Origins was decent. It was actually the highest peak for AC game, only beaten today with Odyssey.

I have Origins but never started it. And everything I'm seeing is making this game look good as well so Im not sure if I wanna just buy it and play the latest. These numbers make it seem like this is a really solid entry as well

So is the scenario here that Origins was good and restored interest in the series and Odyssey improves upon Origins?

Read my first post for the point, I'm not gonna go back and forth with this.

> You said: "They are low"
> I said: "We don't have enough data to say if they are low or not because no uPlay numbers"
> You brought up Far Cry 5 a totally different game to prove your point
> You brought another game to try to prove your point
> You can't prove your point with no data, because we don't have uPlay numbers.

END.
You are the one who's going back and forth, i'm out.

FC5 for example has 92k for all time peak, seems low to me.

And DS3 almost 130 000 boom!

Not even hittting 50 seems quite bad. I wonder how many are using uplay?

Though I did think it would do worse than origins, wich IMO was a boring ass game. I'll might pick this one up in a future sale.

But he's only comparing Steam data with Steam data.

Before old Steamspy shutdown the number of Steam copies were (up to 10th Apr):
- Origins: 743,600 ±26,316
- FC5: 764,324 ±26,680 (Note: Released March 27th)

Here's the other entries:
- FC4: 1,190,005 ±33,277
- Primal: 478,586 ±21,118
- FC3: 3,297,686 ±55,280
- AC Syndicate: 497,359 ±21,528
- AC Unity: 656,562 ±24,730

But yes, apparently Uplay share is bigger at least at launch period.

The FC 3 to 4 drop is crazy, I wonder if 5 can reach that high again.

Well deserved. Easily the best game in the franchise.

Uplay number could be higher too. The game is 20% off on Uplay outside of the US and all third party stores are selling Uplay codes.

Glad to hear. This is absolutely the best game in the series and one of the best open world RPGs since Mass Effect died.

Can't wait to get this game next month. As it stands I've still not finished origins (just got back into it again, and loving it) and there's dragon quest, xenoblade 2 dlc and in the future RDR2 to be finished.

Nice. One of the best RPG's ever made, instant classic.
Damn, is Odyssey really that great? I loved Origins, but I'm a little burnt out and was going to wait for the AC3 remaster.
Does Odyssey improve the side quests, and are missions just outposts and carrying people back to where they need to go?
I absolutely loved Origins, but if it's more of the same, I'll wait for a sale with the season pass.

The FC 3 to 4 drop is crazy, I wonder if 5 can reach that high again.

It has very easy explanation though:

Between Far Cry 3 and 4, Ubisoft stopped doing heavy discounts on Steam. So you'd have to buy huge premium for Steam version.

Like FC3 would regularly be sold for 5€, ~ 1 year after release.

Cheapest FC4 has ever been on Steam is 12€ and that was this year just before release of Far Cry 5, over 3 years after release. Before that it was 15€, 3 times the price of FC3.
Also let's not forget FC4 has season pass, which costs same as game. So basically it has been 15/30€ vs 5€.

But It's also likely that FC4 did do more profit though, even assuming no one bought any of DLC.

People keep mentioning UPlay but do we know how big of a share they have there? I imagine the big majority will be on Steam if it's availabe there.

In my experience so far, all the keys I've gotten for Ubisoft games from CDKeys and GMG have been Uplay keys. Since folks will most likely look for deals on these kinds of games I think the Uplay numbers will be bigger then Steam or at least very comparable. Just guessing of course though.

It is when the game hamstrings players not willing to pay up to avoid the grind designed to make the game as tedious as possible if they don't.
An RPG having an endgame where it takes longer to lvl up isn't a developer trying to make players pay for something that targets a small minority of the player base. Are me and Nome corporate cheerleaders for explaining how these things work?

Odyssey is very immersive game and the best AC to date for me. Story element seems to improve a lot because most AC seems to lack on writing. This time i actually care what gonna happened next. Again the urban myth "grindy" is not true.

Glad to see it going well despite forecast on both ERA and public seems to think this game gonna half bomba

There are some glitchy though.

You carry on being a corporate cheerleader though.

It doesn't hamstring players in any way. Carry on being a Jim cheerleader though.
