That's really sad. I knew it had been in dire straits for a while, but I continued to have small hopes. The original was so much fun, and funny.

I believe Hollow Knight and Undertale were Kickstarters too.

If i recall they wanted it to be a sidescrolling action instead of a rpg.
I've honestly been pretty happy with Kickstarter, but I went in with open eyes knowing that a lot of these projects fail (and virtually all of them get significantly delayed). FTL, Shovel Knight, Undertale, Hyper Light Drifter... we've got a lot of really good games from Kickstarter that might not have happened otherwise.
Would have liked to play this one. It's a shame that it didn't work out.
