Hey Weekend Era. I'm laying in bed and I suddenly realised that Bart Lisa and Maggie don't have hair - they have spiky flaps of skin jutting out of their scalp.

Probably due the nuclear waste in the drinking water I guess...

It is meant to show that the skin on her scalp is paler than skin normally exposed to the sun. They also have hair that is close in color to their skin.

I think Bart, Lisa, and Maggie were designed way before Springfield began to be fleshed out and its people were drawn with more 'real' hair. So you have the remnants of the simple shorts on the Tracey Ullman show mixed in with the more advanced animation that came later.

I had blonde hair a kid but it darkened to brown as I got older. It's just one of those things that happens.
