Is this a completely new game? Or the original game (where you can also play as Link/Zelda) + some Hyrule levels?

Very curious how big it will be and if it has a full overworld, hopefully Treehouse elaborates. It might be a lot bigger than Crypt.
I think it is pretty pricey. £22.49 here. But also I love Necrodancer and Zelda soooo.

This game will be better than most 60 dollar games released this year.
oh, no doubt, absolutely. A lot of indie games are. But that's why I said to me. Others might value it higher, others might value it lower.

Overworld layout is much closer to oldschool Zelda than I was expecting, but here you dont need to worry about sticking to the beat once there are no enemies left in a screen.

There's a full permadeath mode if that's what you mean. The other mode lets you keep certain stuff after death and upgrade with diamonds similar to the lobby system in CotN, but not quite the same either.
So is the first mode kind of like All Zones Mode from Necrodancer?

Yeah sounds like it, but the game is set up differently with dungeons you can access in the overworld, kind of like the overworld is a giant lobby with enemies, maybe.
Ah damn, looks like Cadence is only playable for the tutorial. Hopefully you can at least unlock more characters beyond just Link and Zelda.
EDIT: Hmm, actually I've see screenshots of Cadence in what look like non-tutorial areas, so maybe the Kotaku video doesn't have that right.

I was excited to come back from work today and start playing the game as I was positive that it will be released on the Japanese Eshop, only to find out it's going to release on the 14th in Japan for some reason...
