I wish they'd remove loadouts entirely and just add perks as items to be looted. Totally kills the value of looting.
You mean like Blackout, which utterly nailed the Call of Duty vibe by including perks, but balancing them by making them a consumable, limited-time resource?

I could work with that. I think loadouts are one of the most boring parts of Warzone, since they make every match feel the same.

I don't think the Blackout perks were ideal tbh. They weren't strong enough to really be worth thinking about, I'd rather they just weren't time limited, but maybe had the same perk 1/2/3 slots as multiplayer.

On the contrary, stuff like Dead Silence and Amplify were essential when you know you were entering a fight, Stalker let you move super fast while crouchwalking, and Engineer allowed you to see enemy equipment (which was very common in Blackout). I won tons of games because I had perks that gave me the upper hand. They introduced a unique skill gap, because they gave you huge benefits, but on a short timer. They were resources to be managed, and Warzone has very few resources to consider beyond ammo (which I find is to its detriment).

After a lot more gametime I'd agree that load outs are OP. I quite like the free ones that drop as it causes chaos and action in areas that were otherwise an area of campers, but I do think that they should be limited uses on them, such as 2 people only before they vanish.

Load outs are the best part of this battle royale. They are like war zones big distinguishing feature.

And saying it makes every match the same I don't agree with. The amount of trash custom guns I pick up is astounding to me.

I'd like to try out a zombies like perk system where you can get as many as you want if you have the cash. Probably would have to make original Warzone perks for that

I have no problem with loadouts in general, but I do have issue that the loadouts are not tailored for Warzone and are straight from the MP. Sure some of the perks have been slightly changed but I feel like in general they could be better designed around Warzone's meta. This also goes for the killstreaks which I feel like should complement the game flow of a typical match.

I have a feeling S04 wont release for awhile now since they haven't announced anything ahead of time, but would like to be wrong.

I have the multiplayer and all of the attachments for weapons I use, I just like the focus on looting and exploring in BR games, and that mostly goes away once you get your load out.

I still find it necessary to keep looting and do missions even after getting your loadout. You need money for self revives, gasmasks, ammo, armor, buying teammates, etc. Or keep searching and looting for those things, killstreaks, trophies, lethals whatever. Loadouts arent the end all imo. But is definetly one of the most important parts.

Loadouts are great because its an effective way to minimize a good chunk of the RNG of a BR and level the playing field a bit.

I just find I don't have to go out of my way to get plenty of cash. Just a personal preference, I do like having my own weapons it just changes the game a bit much for the style I'd like in a BR.

True but the perks are important

That's why I'd prefer them to be loot and/or shop items.

If you had $4.5k on you when you died, and its before the final 3 circles, you would respawn. The money drops were a lot higher too.
It was much more fast paced because less people sat in a building all game.

That sounds good but I dont like the game revolving around loadouts which I assume is what it devolved into

I want to play a version where there's no loadout drops, but perks are purchasable.

Guns would also be purchasable, but their cost is related to the type of weapon and attachments you have.

So pre-game, you can make your budget guns, mid-game guns, and the super expensive guns, but they all have their own costs.

Why all the secrecy though, can they not let us peek at the battlepass rewards and let us know the new additions/changes coming along with a freakin' 50GB update?

What generally changes at the end of a season? More adjustments than just a new Battlepass and those rewards? I realize we have a sample size of 3 here...

Season 4 patch notes, drops in 2 hours and 15 minutes.

WHAT'S NEW
Weapon Mastery Challenges!
Once you've unlocked Gold for a weapon, Mastery Challenges become available. There's 8 Challenges per weapon, each granting their own rewards, with 4 Playercards and 4 Emblems up for grabs. You'll need to make your way through 2 Kill Challenges, 2 Headshot Challenges, and 4 additional Challenges that must be done in order (Gold, Platinum, Damascus, Obsidian). Completing all challenges for 51 weapons unlocks a badass special Sticker and Playercard!
Warzone In-Match Events!
Events can occur during Warzone Battle Royale matches and have an impact on the strategy and approach to gameplay. Events can happen in any given match without advance notice. When they happen events will always occur mid-game. E.g. after the first drop kit and before the Gulag closes. Only one event type will occur in a given match, so familiarize yourself with three new event types, available at the start of Season Four – 'Jailbreak', 'Fire Sale', and 'Supply Chopper'.
When a 'Jailbreak' occurs, all players that have been eliminated will be released back into the match. Whether you were waiting for your 1v1 in the Gulag, or had been relegated to a spectator, now you'll have another chance. You will get a one-minute notice before a Jailbreak event happens to find additional armor or secure a weapon for your returning teammates. Jailbreak events can occur any time during the middle game of a Battle Royale match, so it may be worth it to spectate, just in case. Be mindful that when a Jailbreak occurs, it's not just your teammates that are coming back, but tons of additional enemies.
A 'Fire Sale' is an in-game event that temporarily discounts most of the items at a Buy Station up to 80% or even gives items out completely free. A Fire Sale is the perfect time to pick up a UAV, Armor Box for your squad, or even a lethal Killstreak. During a Fire Sale buying back a fallen teammate is completely free. If your short on in-match Cash, a Fire Sale might be the best chance to redeploy a squadmate. Note that even during a Fire Sale, Loadout Drops are not discounted. Fire Sales only last sixty seconds, so expect Buy Stations to be crowded and prepare for a fight.
A 'Supply Choppers' event brings a non-lethal, but heavily armored helicopter to Verdansk. The helicopter will have a lot of health, and it will require a few rounds of bullets and maybe a rocket or two to bring it down. The helicopter will not shoot at you, but make sure that while you're distracted enemy teams don't take advantage. Once you destroy the Supply Chopper, it will drop high quality loot for players to pick up. This loot includes three UAVS, two armor boxes and munitions boxes, a gas mask, a grenade launcher, and tons of Cash at a minimum. Supply Choppers leave after a certain period of time, so if you want to take one out start firing right away. Remember, that after taking down a Supply Chopper, you have to collect the loot. Watch out for enemy teams who might try to take you out during the collection or steal your hard-earned rewards.
Contraband Contract System!
Contraband is a new, rare contract with a permanent Blueprint Reward. Contraband contracts have a chance to spawn after a previous contract is completed. If you see the Contraband briefcase, hurry up and collect it. Once you have it, take it to the designated Helicopter Extraction location to call in the helicopter. The player carrying the briefcase must deposit it into the helicopter drop-bag to complete the mission. If you kill a player carrying this briefcase you can steal it complete the contract for your team. Be on the lookout for them on your Tac Map! PLAYLIST UPDATE Modern Warfare
Barakett Promenade has been added to Ground War!
Trench Mosh Pit (2v2)!
Scrapyard 24/7!
Blueprint Gunfight!
Warzone
Quads
Trios
Duos
Solos

Warzone Rumble!
Warzone Rumble is a brand-new mode in Warzone. Two teams of 50 players parachute and battle it out in various areas around Verdansk. This mode is high action with custom loadouts, vehicles, and quick respawns. Modified Special Operations:

DOWNLOAD SIZE The Season 4 download is going to be large. In order to reduce the overall disc space that MW and WZ take up, we're compressing a bunch of assets. Once installed, the S4 launch will only take up an additional 4GB on consoles for all of the new content. We're continuing to sweep all assets to make size reductions where we can, and also further optimize future patches for size. If helpful, one reminder for console players, you can uninstall the content packs for modes that you're not playing if you want to free up space. You can learn how to do so HERE. GENERAL FIXES

All the changes sound interesting for sure. At least keeps it fresh. I hope they will work out in-game (especially a bit concered about the jailbreak)... but caustically optimistic about all the changes.

Im sorry but jailbreak and fire sales sound awful.

Why do they insist on offering so many ways for people to come back. Its a BR game. I shouldnt have to constantly deal with players that were killed.

Fire Sale sounds fine in theory, but in practice, theres not as much risk as you may think because there are so many buy stations and its so easy to swoop in and leave before you get confronted by another team.

I'm optimistic about the changes. I think they'll be rather rare, won't influence the balance too much, and can help to get some much-needed variety into the games.

Though, I could see it go either way. The Most Wanted contract sounded extremely promising in theory, but in practice, it was utterly useless and pointless. I can imagine Jailbreak not having that much of an impact as it will most likely be deployed at a time that many squads will already be eliminated and will most likely only bring back a couple of eliminated players in a couple of squads. And there will probably be many uncontested buy stations (depending on the mode) during a Fire Sale.

But we'll see. I'm curious.

Jailbreak definitely sounds a bit dumb, but I'm guessing it'll be rare enough to just be a gimmick rather than a consistent annoyance. I'm up for it.
