Chris Stuckmann’s Horror Movie ‘Shelby Oaks’ Adds Genre Specialist Mike Flanagan To Team

The 2022 Kickstarter campaign for the movie raised $1.39M in under a month.

Chris Stuckmann and Aaron B. Koontz of Paper Street Pictures have added genre specialists Mike Flanagan, Trevor Macy and Melinda Nishioka of Intrepid Pictures as executive producers on their record-breaking Kickstarter-backed horror film Shelby Oaks, which is in post-production.

The 2022 Kickstarter campaign for the movie raised $1.39M in under a month, more than doubling the previous record for the most-funded horror film on Kickstarter.

Okay Stuckmann might actually be cooking here. I'm legitimately hyped to see how this turns out. If for the best, Chris might be on the rise as one of the big new horror directors.

If they are exec producing what is already a shot film this means that 1) it might be good and 2) intrepid could be providing financial backing for a more widespread release than what Stuckmann could have done on their own.

Also Keith David is in this? I'm in.

Really happy for Chris Stuckmann. He's expressed being a fan of Mike Flanagan's work in his reviews, so this has to be super exciting for him.

here
really interested in this

seeing a creepypasta/un-fiction project become a film from folks who actually know how to make them is gonna be neat

that hollywood slenderman movie nearly poisoned the well

I've loved his reviews. And Flanagan (along with Jordan Peele) have saved the Horror genre for me. So I'm very curious to see what happens here.

Whenever this does release, after all these years, I'm really curious what a horror movie from him would even be like. Good for him, his dreams have come true in spades with this production.

Right on. I was getting a little bit worried things weren't coming together because we haven't heard anything about it in so long, but this is good news. I want this movie to be a success

But also even if Flannagan was only there for marketing, so what? Even adding his name to help boost attention onto an indie horror movie seems like a real nice thing to do!
