Man farcry 3 vibes for some reason.

Yeah I'll wait for a sale.

Well, at this point, I have zero expectations for the long-rumored Mass Effect Trilogy remaster. Fucking hell.

What the hell, it looks dated. Alex Battaglia is gonna have a field day with this or maybe not field day due to there being no visible improvements maybe?

Need a really good comparison, Crysis looked immaculate and an unachievable dream when I wanted to play it way back. This kinda looks like an early gen game to me right now.

I'm reserving judgement until we have high quality high res pc shots. The trailer states it uses pc footage, and the trailer is noticeably better looking than the screenshots from the Microsoft store page.
It's definitely more of a remaster than a remake though. But if it launches for 20-30 bucks that's fine. The original game is starting to have some compatibility issues of its own in my experience.

Did Crysis ever get foliage interaction like what was shown in those old early videos? Like when the guy ran by the big plant in this video.

I also remember clips, that I can't find, of footage of shooting different parts of leaves and realistic results...and I think lighting through the bullet holes. Maybe I'm misremembering, or getting games mixed up.

I'm guessing the remaster is actually based on the console versions from last gen?

Yeah, it did. You can see that in this video.

Still looks (and plays) great!

Yeah I saw that, but figured it was just a mod...because the plant physics are not smooth as I remember from that initial Crytek video.

I thought it was going to be part of the campaign.....eventually. Was curious if this remaster (14 years later) would have it.

Original Crysis has a very natural colour palette and this kind of craps in the face of that. The amount of saturation and overblown post processing is extremely disappointing. If the game is moddable like the original was then there's potentially a good base to work off, but I doubt this will have the same dedicated modding community as 2007 Crysis.
This. The color pallette is a huge part of what made OG crysis near photoreal at some times.

Even if it was it would still have all the all the parameters to make it look better.

There were quite a lot of new features in this version, so I don't know why there seems be little evidence of that.
I honestly think someone without a capable (working from home perhaps) has been responsible for capture and editing those videos. They are poor for multiple reasons beyond just the graphics.

Beyond the 900p screenshots..
This is what the game is going to feature

Crysis Remastered will feature the original game's single-player campaign alongside high-quality textures, an HD texture pack, improved art assets, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, and particle effects (where applicable). Further additions like volumetric fog and shafts of light, software-based ray tracing, and screen space reflections deliver a major visual upgrade to this classic FPS experience.

I have no reason to believe they are lying, after all that first official teaser trailer looked fantastic.
So I think something else with this meant to be unreleased content is up.

They ruined the colour grading :/

This game looks as colourful as Far Cry 1 now.

Yeah, they really have changed the look there. They've gone a bit silly with shadow detail. Perhaps if we see some footage with the SVO GI solution is enabled it will pull back the ambient detail in those areas.

I wonder if Saber Interactive added any unfunny memes that will instantly date the game like they did with their Halo Combat Evolved remaster.

The colours are not right.
The foliage especially looks very bright as if they don't have proper shading.

This makes the fact that Warhead or Crysis 2/3 aren't included even more ridiculous. If it's just a basic remaster how come they couldn't port the other games as well?

Should've at least done Warhead too, bummer. Wonder what they're gonna try and charge for this.

Okay, this is good news if they are actually going to go back to the drawing board and give us something that looks contemporary. Crysis is a game that should wow.

Maximum Disappointment

Looks the same but a bit worse to me? Where the ray tracing at?

I feel like if you want to make a Crysis game then it needs to use all the latest and greatest features you find in the current version of Cry Engine to the fullest. The name has some weight attached to it when it comes to expectations, and the tech is already available in the engine anyway.

At least they reacted in a non-patronizing manner that acknowledges the issues we have brought up. That is to be commended at least.

Only now they realize this was not nearly good enough?
Better late than never i guess but i don't expect much to change anyway.

I kinda feel bad, but I think it is better in the long run. I uploaded the trailer and it has 60k views on it and the comments are filled with people saying either
A: It's awful
B: It's fake

So people clearly are struggling to rationalise this as being a viable remaster based upon what was shown. Half of it seemed to just be the presentation.
I think they would be better off doing a tech demo, finding some really impressive transformative areas and doing before and after.
Areas that really highlight the tech improvements.
