I would say it's already over when Biden and the media think that you can be polite and not say bad things, Trump is going to win every time if you want to fight with a hand tied to your back.

That is just daydreaming.

Which is a made up, non-existent story.

Don't do Trump's job for him, please. I don't care if your dumb-as-nuts cousin believes that "There's something about that Hunter Biden that I don't trust, makin money in Ukraine!!" -- don't gaslight made up far right conspiracy theories that are not based in fact. Even if "the guy who fills my tires thinks there's somethin suspicious about Boris-Ma gas," it's complete bull shit, don't give it credence.
I think you know better than to pretend like that poster was "doing Trump's job for him" simply by pointing what will likely happen. Describing stuff isn't an endorsement of it.

Maybe I'm delusional but I don't understand how a platform of

Medical Insurance for all
Reduced or free college
15 dollar minimum wage
Free Child care
Actually taxing the 1%

Is apparently a platform that doesn't """resonate"""" with voters. Can someone explain to me why this isn't popular amongst all Democrats ????

People vote for people, not policy. I remember seeing a poll in South Carolina that had more voters supporting medicare 4 all but Biden won...

Pains me to say this, but Liz needs to drop out. Unless she some how pulls an inside straight and gets second place in CA(99.9999999% impossible), she is fucking toast. :/

I'm looking at the doom and gloom in this thread, then looking at the real world and seeing voters were enthusiastic to vote for Biden. He is winning new first time voters. Turnout is higher than 2008 and 2016. I think folks are living in a bubble. I didn't think this would happen either, yet here we are. If Biden is the nominee, I think he got this.

So damn refreshing to see.

Ugh....is Biden's campaign seriously going to be, "America is already great, nothing needs to fundamentally change except for Trump's admin!" ?

Well, I guess that'll help rich folks sleep comfortably.

That's always been his message. And people are so used to their shitty lives they can't conceive of things getting better.

the people actually voting
Already have Medicare
Aren't going to college
Are retired
Children are grow ass adults
and unfortunately don't care about anyone's taxes but their own

If the progressive/youth faction of the party wants their candidate to make it through the primary, they need to actually show up. And at levels that are competing with the older vote.

Moderate voters love Biden. Turnout is high tonight and with Biden blowing the doors open, pretty clear the moderates came out in droves to vote for him.

The huge turnout for Biden is basically nostalgia for Obama.

I know a lot of people are upset with the idea of a Biden being the candidate but if he can muster up favorability among moderates longing for the 2008-2016 Obama presidency then he stands a strong chance of beating Trump come November.

While at the end of the day I've had some strong reservations on Sanders, it's pretty gutting to see how strong the surge against him was. After spending months looking for an "anybody but Biden" alternative, there's a whiff of a possible Sanders win and suddenly it's "anybody but him." And there's a lot of blame to go around for that, but I think this is a strong indication that a general election win was always going to be a challenge. And even if he can pull a miracle play and somehow still nab the nomination, it's a dark outlook for progressivism in the United States.

People will always carry that torch forward, but this is really the last ride for Bernie (and, in a lesser way, Warren as well). And I think we'll struggle to get that kind of momentum in the near future. So it's rough seeing this moment sort of cosigned to the dustbin of history; tossing Bernie in the pile with the socialists of the 20s, and the doves of the 70s, and all the other political movements that were decent, and good, and RIGHT, but just too out of step with their times.

It kind of makes me think of the Hunter S. Thompson quote on the 60s counterculture. Like, we're at the high water mark now.

"There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. . . .

And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . .

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back."

In a just system Biden would be rotting in a cell for voting for the Iraq war, but that's not the world we live in unfortunately. If the first female president candidate couldn't excite voters, I don't see how some senile old man with similar ideology is going to get people out of the house. A main campaign message of "I'm not trump, so vote for me" didn't work out well last time, but we'll see.

based on exit polls, biden is apparently exciting new voters to come out and vote for the very first time, moreso than bernie sanders is

To be blunt, anyone who thinks picking Biden will destroy our chance to win in November is either not looking at or not appreciating the turnout and demographics Biden has achieved tonight.

Like, today is just about the best evidence possible that Biden will beat Trump.
Yeah, like looking at the turnout in states like Viriginia tonight, and looking at stuff like the special election results in Maine, I'm feeling pretty good about tonight.

Like, obviously even a single day is a lifetime in politics and anything can happen, but for now, for the current moment, looking at these results, looking at the turnout and stuff, looking at just the actual data we have at the moment, (like, it's not just general election polls, it's not just the result of the 2018 elections which were promising, but looking at the turnout tonight in various states, which is pretty damn strong on top of all that), it's hard not to feel optimistic about Biden's chances right now.

AOC should drop the revolution talk and just call it a movement.

There's little tweaks you can make to keep the same vibe of Bernie's campaign while also making it more palatable to the masses.

Hasan, the guy who liked the tweet, is a Bernie-or-buster unless he's changed his stance on that. I think that tweet is to showcase how a BoBer was proud of supposedly killing other campaigns, and Pete was next. The tweet is from November, isn't it.

Republican turnout has been insane too. Trump shattered all previous incumbent records in a pointless New Hampshire primary.

Y'all need to stop with this. If you truly hate Trump you should vote for anyone going against him with a smile. I feel like this kinda of attitudes could lead to another Clinton situation. Where folks are like, "They both kinda suck. Why show up?"
Don't tell me to fucking smile for voting for a moderate that is gliding to victory because he once associated with Obama. You can smile if you want. Don't tell me what to do if I don't want to do it.

Most of these states Bernard didn't win last time, I feel somewhat good that he's able to pull in Texas and CA this time around. I think he can do well in NY.

We aren't doing anyone's job but acknowledging reality. Trump is going to use every single issue against Biden, including his son. You have to expect this by now.

Biden winning MA tells me that if Warren drops out... a lot of those votes -arent- going to Bernie.

Between Biden and Bernie, Biden has the stronger chance of flipping the Senate while winning, do consider that bright side, because flipping the Senate is essential.

I'm telling you what he will say, I'm not telling you what is and isn't conspiracy.

Trump will say a lot of things; He'll say that Bernie and Castro had Moscow Mules together during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It's bull shit, and arguing against a Democratic candidate for president because of whatever the far-right conspiracies are is just stupid, and it's leading credibility to those far right conspiracies.

Like Seth Rich, like PizzaGate, like Benghazi, like Q-Anon, like everything else. In 2020, we have to be more vigilant about bull shit like that. We were careless in 2016.
