Just curious. How hard is it for new players to catch up with this stuff before the new DLC hits? Must be frustrating to someone who just bought the game and needs to do almost a year of work to finally catch up with weapons or whatever.

I'm very ignorant about Destiny and it shows, but been wondering that for a while.

It is not too bad. Especially if you are willing to do LFG, join a clan and play with others. Probably around 80-100 hours to get your character to max power light, starting from scratch.

random question, does anyone think Forsaken will get sold by anyone other than Battle.net? I know Taken King can be bought on places like Amazon, so I wondered if we may see that in the future. I'd prefer to get it on Humble like I did with Destiny 2. Humble even sells the year 1 DLC for Destiny 2 PC.
Should be available on key selling sites like GMG or Humble just like usual.

I really enjoyed the first Destiny especially after the Taken King came out. Destiny 2 was a real let down, and I didn't buy either of the DLC since neither seemed worth it. Now this seems finally like the game i was hoping for, but price is just too high. Having to buy 2 old DLC, plus a new annual pass which will likely be light on content and disappointing just seems too much.

I'm just curious if they are going to bring the other subclasses in line with the new ones cause the new ones look really overpowered compared to the old.

Sounds good to me. A good game to kick off the Fall deluge of great titles (and into 2019). Its going to be raining incredible games starting up here pretty quick.

Damn that sounds good... I just wish I hadn't already spent $100 on it for the bad product I got to date. This update sounds like it goes a long way to fixing what made the release so bad to date.

They will almost certainly bundle the Y1 DLC with Forsaken closer to launch, just like they did with TTK.

As for the Annual Pass, you'll have 5 months to play with Forsaken to decide whether they did enough to deserve your money again.

Yeah, an exotic energy blade that reflect shots would be boss. Honestly, I'm surprised there isn't a dedicated melee slot ala Warframe that takes over the quick melee but lets you do more stuff when you switch to that specific slot (blocking, combos, etc), it's not like they can't still keep melee abilities considering said abilities either involve pressing the button when nothing's in melee range or doesn't really affect how much damage you do but rather adds another effect on top of the hit.
the entire weapon slot system needs a bigger overhaul.

Melee weapons would be dope
