Some players have trolled us when we politely asked them to leave.
Well in that case!
Wait, no, it's still lame as hell.
Some players have trolled us when we politely asked them to leave.
So really the problem is the people who went to the summit have now ruined EP for everyone else as just because they found it easy they didn't stop to think that might be because they're extremely high level players and that the majority of players aren't up to there same skill level and so the original difficulty Bungie had EP at would have been a good challenge for most players but now they've gone and took advice from the summit people and made it worse for most other players.I'd like to point out that Bungie said that EP is balanced for a fireteam of 3 people at max light.
And that the guys at the summit said it was too easy then and so Bungie made it harder.
So if you all need 7-9 people to beat it....maybe you are just bad? 8)
Some players have trolled us when we politely asked them to leave. They'll sit and just dance, refusing to leave. They're just doing patrols for resonate stems or something equally non essential. They can easily go into another instance with zero effort.
Ultimately, it's Bungie's fault. All of this can be resolved by them.
I don't really watch streamers or youtubers that much but have any of them talked about the difference in difficulty between what they played and what we got in the end?So really the problem is the people who went to the summit have now ruined EP for everyone else as just because they found it easy they didn't stop to think that might be because they're extremely high level players and that the majority of players aren't up to there same skill level and so the original difficulty Bungie had EP at would have been a good challenge for most players but now they've gone and took advice from the summit people and made it worse for most other players.
Soooo being toxic now includes causing someone 30 seconds of downtime before they go right back to doing what they were doing?
No one is pointing and laughing or rubbing it in someone's face and calling them names or threatening them. They are working the system to try and play the content they paid for. That's not toxic.
(We should have been running around with a full 6 man team in public spaces since day one imo.
PoE is better. Or was in its first year.So i havent touched it yet since im only 342, but is EP supposed to be like, a better Prison of Elders?

Asking people politely to leave is not toxic but having them make you leader and kick them without them knowing they will be kicked is what is toxic because the "blueberry" is being deceived into thinking they'll get to participate in the activity and then gets booted to orbit. It's not on the same level as people who boot during the final stage of a raid boss or whatever but has some of the same toxicity to it.I mean, we can argue semantics about how 30 seconds isn't really that big a deal, but ultimately this method of grouping for EP is intentionally inconveniencing other people solely because you believe what you're doing is more important than what they're doing.
I don't think kicking them is the toxic part, that's just shitty. What's toxic is thinking that your group is more deserving of that spot than they are. It's elitist. My activity is more important than yours. My time is more valuable than yours. It's just a shitty mindset and isn't good for the community.
But I guess there isn't a better way to get a big enough group for EP currently and so it's going to become the accepted norm until Bungie fixes it or smaller groups can do it once power levels get higher.
I had someone whisper me the other day asking if I could invite their buddy for EP and promote him to lead. Even said I could help if I wanted. Next thing I know I'm kicked back to orbit. Now I know why.

If someone sends me a message while I'm on patrol letting me know they have a full team and asking if I can make them a leader and leave, I have no issue with that and would help out if asked. If you can't find similarly helpful people I think rezoning until you do is the way to go...
So i havent touched it yet since im only 342, but is EP supposed to be like, a better Prison of Elders?
I assumed PXG and their crew were asking/ explaining the situation before making room for their team. I didn't think they were tricking ppl and then kicking them.
I mean, they have every right to be there as you. I agree Bungie needs to come up with a better solution, but the current work around is shitty to other players whether you're actually kicking or just letting your friends get their hands dirty for you.
And saying what they're doing is "non essential" is pretty hilarious because what you're doing is just as "equally non essential" as what they're doing. Comes off as very elitist and that is toxic.

Booting people from a public area is shitty. They have every right to be in that instance, even if they're just standing there looking at geometry. Them refusing to leave is not griefing, because EP teams have no more right to that public area than anyone else. Some people are asked to leave, some leave on their own, some are kicked. It's a mix. Some players refuse to leave and deliberately grief us and stop us from getting more people in.
So the "toxicity" (over used term honestly) works both ways. It's lame and consumes far too much precious precious time.
While we're shitting on Bungie, can we also talk about how Zavala says something else awoke on Mars then Ana is talking about Xol. There is zero introduction of Xol. I could have sworn a cutscene was missing.
I think all I've heard so far is that the streamers that went to the summit said that the EP wasn't hard enough for them so bungie at the last minute put the difficulty up. Considering how hard EP is now at the final waves I'm starting to think that bungie got the difficulty right originally and shouldn't have listened to the streamers at the summit.I don't really watch streamers or youtubers that much but have any of them talked about the difference in difficulty between what they played and what we got in the end?

You were in our group when we did it at the weekend and you didn't seem to mind it then...Exhibiting elitism and practicing it on innocent individuals is 100% toxicity. The word toxicity does get overused in this thread quite frequently but this is an applicable term right now. Let's use an example. If a bunch of people are hanging around Time Square and suddenly you and a whole bunch of people come in and start a flash mob kicking unsuspecting individuals from hanging out there, it's fairly rude I would say.

Last week someone asked me to invite someone named Gladd to my solo fireteam for EP and I did, then jumped off due to family obligations. He must of been happy to be in the same instance as his friend I thought. I checked my friend's list yesterday since I recognize that guy's name on Datto's stream and lo and behold that's the same Gladd from Redeem that got recent world's first.
I could of got carried in EP :(

Does anyone have any idea what the year 1 triumph book will have? I took a HUGE break after launch and im worried of catching up.
During the summit they were able to make it to level 3 on characters at 350 power so it was definitely a lot easier.I think all I've heard so far is that the streamers that went to the summit said that the EP wasn't hard enough for them so bungie at the last minute put the difficulty up. DestinyEra drama. Gotta love it. This is the true end game right here, boy.
Lol, Ive been away for a few hours and just caught up. I am impressed you are still going the route of self justification. Whatever let's you sleep at night. If you need to kick kids out of fireteams to be able to beat a boss because you arent good or patient enough thats on you. Im sure you feel better about yourself for doing so and it was worth it.
