Version 2.0 was uploaded to the private CDN for a technical alpha build of the CDN 3 weeks ago https://www.wowhead.com/diablo-4/news/version-2-0-on-cdn-hints-at-diablo-4-expansion-335300

New Class - Spiritborn - Files mention nature, wings and soaring
New Region - Kurast
Mercenary System with its own equipment system / talent tree
Raids are possibly coming
Runestones (Maybe a season 3 thing?) ; ability to craft corrupt runestones?
Travincal mentioned in files

Another leak that could possibly be real: https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2642127-Leak

New Expansion: Nahantu

This vast land, similar in size to the other five zones, is teeming with untamed wilderness and ancient secrets waiting to be discovered.

Nahantu is a land of contrasts, from the Restless Canopy's verdant foliage to the barren expanse of the Teganze Plateau. It is home to the Field of Giants, a place of lingering hatred, and the dark depths of the Kurast Sewers. Each location presents unique challenges and opportunities for the Spiritborn, whose connection with nature will be tested like never before.

The zone comes with new quests that will take players on a journey through Nahantu's many dungeons. From the eerie Forge of Malice and Sleepless Hollow to the haunting Forgotten Remains and Ruined Wild, each dungeon holds dangers and treasures in equal measure.

The campaign will lead players through the Durance of Hate, to the Gates of the Necropolis, into the ethereal Spirit Realm, and finally to the Five Hills - the tomb of Akarat. Each step of this journey will reveal more about Nahantu's history and its connection to the Spiritborn.

The pinnacle of Nahantu's challenges is a new raid centered around Khazra. With five wings to conquer, this raid will push even the most seasoned adventurers to their limits.

New class: SpiritBorn - Uses glaives.

The release of the Spiritborn class opens up a whole new way to experience Diablo 4. Their unique abilities and playstyle offer fresh strategies for tackling Nahantu's challenges. Whether you're navigating through the Restless Canopy or battling in the depths of Kurast Sewers, playing as a Spiritborn in Nahantu promises an adventure like no other.

The Spiritborn, a class deeply rooted in the elements of nature and the spiritual realm. They are the children of the wild, born from the spirit of the plains, sky, soil, and forest. Their souls are intertwined with the world around them, drawing strength from the very essence of life and nature.

Their weapon of choice is the glaive, a symbol of their connection to both the physical and spiritual realms. The glaive is more than just a weapon to a Spiritborn; it is an extension of their spirit, a conduit through which they channel their power.

The Spiritborn's power comes from two resources: Vigor and Allegiance. Vigor represents their physical vitality and endurance, gained from their bond with the earth and sky. It fuels their physical abilities and allows them to perform feats of agility and strength beyond normal capabilities.

Allegiance, on the other hand, represents their spiritual connection to nature and its creatures. It is through Allegiance that they can call upon the spirits of nature for aid, summoning ethereal allies or invoking powerful elemental spells.

The Spiritborn are not merely fighters; they are guardians of balance. They stand on the boundary between the physical world and the spiritual realm, ensuring harmony between the two. Their mission is not just to defeat their enemies but to preserve the natural order of things.

In battle, a Spiritborn is a sight to behold. They move with the grace of the wind, their glaives dancing like leaves in a storm. Their attacks are fluid and relentless, like a river carving its path through stone. And when they call upon their spiritual powers, the air around them crackles with raw elemental energy.

Whether you're drawn to their unique blend of physical prowess and spiritual power or their noble mission to preserve balance in the world, playing as a Spiritborn offers a truly unique experience in Sanctuary.

I was sent a survey from Blizzard a couple of months ago about what I'd like to see in the future and there are two things on that list that were in the survey. Definitely looking forward to whatever's next for D4.

Raids would be great. More group content for people is definitely a plus.
Everything else sounds good as well

The class I'm not too sure about. Sounds like it could be cool or a druid knockoff. NGL I wish they would have gone with Paladin.

Exciting. Going to a bit of an eye-roll when after all the ire and shouting at Blizzard and D4, gamers flock back in droves come expansion and positive changes.

Spiritborn sounds interesting though very similar to Druid in flavor. Not sure what to think of it.

More than anything I just want my Paladin/Crusader.

Followers are interesting. Wonder if they will speak frequently like the ones in D3. This may sound like an odd complaint, but I find D4 to be a very quiet game when it comes to the main character. They barely speak and when they do it's brief and plain. I miss the personality on display in D3 both for the player character and the followers.

This game would benefit more if it got ARR'd instead of getting an expansion. No amount of D2 nostalgia pandering can right the turd that D4 currently is.

Eh, S2 is surprisingly fun, it's got a ton of good changes, definitely more to do but they are going in the right direction at a decent pace.

I still believe the new class will be Arcane-based. Why remove Arcane skills from Wizard if not?

They will be doing more new classes I guess...

Anyway, cool. I will be coming back once expac hits.

If the class is genuinely cool then I'll gladly play it. If it isn't as cool as Paladin then they fucked up lol

Based on one of the bigger side quests in I believe Kehjistan, there's a Priest of the church who defected and, in a very short summary, says that he is going across the sea to help organize other defectors on the other continent, and he may see us there some day. I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of what he said at the end of the quest line. I'd bet we will get that holy class like a Paladin/Knight Penitent/Battle Priest when we go to the other continent later on.

Interesting. I'll have to do that quest and check it out. I've still got a handful I haven't finished. Thanks!

Raids are something I'm most interested in. At launch I loved the feeling of fighting world bosses with randoms when people didn't have a clue what they were doing. Gimme more of that. I don't want my end game to be just running the same old dungeons all by myself.

You're welcome! It's a guy on a random road outside of Kea Gul (I'm like... 90% sure that's correct) that starts the quest. I think maybe he even shouts out to you as you run or ride by, but I don't remember, it has been a bit since I finished it last. You'll know it's him because you are helping him escort some refugees to safety when you first start the quest. Enjoy!

Wizards and Sorcerers are different things in Diablo lore. They didn't "remove" arcane skills from wizard because wizard is not a playable class in D4.

I am a bit skeptical on raids in ARPGs, but Diablo in particular for two reasons. First, as a solo finding a group to do the raid with will be difficult without a matchmaking system. Second, my group content experiences in WoW have been some of the worst in all my years of gaming.

I fear this will turn into some uber-sweaty shit like raiding in WoW.

I'm in for all the rest provided they keep adding QoL improvements to bring it up to D3's standards.

If Paladin/Crusader are actually not in the expansion, A LOT of people are going to be very upset, including me.

Give me better lfg tools, or matchmaking for things. Or anything more social to make it not feel like a single player game.

Otherwise raids for me personally will be worthless content.

This would get me back in if it turns to be true. Raids in a Diablo game could be awesome.

What you posted earlier could be real; the leak said they use glaives

Going back to Kurast with Mephisto sounds very safe, but the new class doesn't sound super interesting. I dunno, wait and see I guess.

I think S2 is genuinely a significant improvement over the launch game, so it seems like Blizzard is making positive steps towards the game D4 "should" be. At the same time, I don't know how interested I am in more story content in general. Better itemization (more interesting items, less extraneous affixes) and general game flow (less time waiting on CDs and resource generation, even less CC) are what I want the most.
