Hmm, is it similar to Red Dead Redemption 2? Last I remembered, DLSS looked way too oversharpened there with motionDLSS (especially Quality mode) seems to have some very noticeable halo/ringing artifacts compared to PS CB4K or Native 4K. Looks over sharpened and unnatural.
Wish every game would include the DLSS sharpening slider.DLSS (especially Quality mode) seems to have some very noticeable halo/ringing artifacts compared to PS CB4K or Native 4K. Looks over sharpened and unnatural.
With dlss on quality I'm getting around 80fps easily, haven't seen it dip much lower than that. 4k on an Oled with gsync as well with a 3080.Anyone on a 3080/9900k or similar set-up? Was thinking I'd just put this on DLSS quality and everything Ultra. Would like to get around 80 fps if possible. Playing on a 4k OLED with G-sync.
Thank you very much and good luck!
It's dead.
I'm guessing you'll be able to max it out. Thanks for the giveaway Finale Fireworker
Edit: curious how well this would on my new laptop w/ a RTX 3060
Yes the sharpening that comes with DLSS here is a bit too much for me. Wish there was a slider for that in the menu.As others have said with DLSS even at 4k it does look like its sharpened quite a bit and while its not horrible it is noticeable.
RTX 20 series have aged way better than expected, if you got a RTX 20 card at launch or the Summer of 2019 with the Super Refresh that was an extremely wise buy.
Anyone in here running this with an AMD card? I'm downloading it now, but am hearing rumblings in various comment sections that AMD performance is very poor indeed. I have a 6700 XT and will be targeting 1440p. As always, I'll start with DF's optimised settings.
This is supergenerous of you!
Any screenshot comparisons? To anyone interested, Flawless Widescreen plugin got updated right now, and now you can change the FOV!
I also appreciate mentioning custom resolution @ 50 Hz for the game not hitting 60, a lot of games benefit from this and people should could gain better experience using this.
Ngl even with the checkerboard artefacts pointed out, it never looked that bad to me in person.
So would a 5800X be able to maintain 120 like the 10900K? Or would be it more similar to the 3600
Yeah, I know DF have acknowledged the 400% memes but it felt like a bit of joke when he was zooming in that far (I get why it was done though). I imagine most people playing GOW on PS5 are doing so on a TV at least a few feet away. If you're on a monitor it's much more noticeable though of courseThat's because he's zooming 400%. From a normal viewing distance it's quite hard fo tell.

FOV was my biggest problem with the game so this looks awesome.Yeah, I tested it myself. Check it out.

Thanks for the giveaway, so nice of you.Wow, 700 entries on the giveaway. I've never seen so many entries. :O
If you have a good enough PC, going ultra on shadow really change the game compared to most of other games where you barely see difference between high and ultra
i recommend it personally
Absolutely. Going all ultra really elevates the visual presentation.

Compromise to make the most of constrained hardware? It does a job but clearly isn't as good as far powerful and more modern PC hardware.Looks way better than the PS4 version due to getting rid of that awful checkerboarding.
Why do developers use this? Just seems bad.
If you're on AMD that's normal but there's nothing the devs can do about that, except make a DX12 version. There's a ton of driver overhead on AMD as it's a DX11 game. You can't look at a CPU in a vacuum and expect x performance as CPU performance can dffer greatly between AMD & Nvidia.Running on a 3600x can be frustrating. My fps dropped to 47fps during the 2nd boss fight when the camera faces to Kratos' home.
Is this really optimized or just optimized to run at 4k?

Check this out, go to the CPU part and swtich between AMD & Nvidia GPUs:

If you look at Nvidia GPUs almost all CPUs hits above 60fps, even the 1600x has minimums above 60fps. Then if you switch to AMD only Alder Lake has minimums above 60fps.
