I'm more hyped for the better launcher/library myself, though i'm a little bummed that it still doesn't seem to pull in Battle.NET games (which sucks since i'm big into Destiny 2 right now!)

Definitely looking forward to having some fun with Torchlight 2, though.

Sinner came out earlier than console at least. Timed exclusiviity still sucks though.

Browsed it for not even one minute and i'm already annoyed by the memes and "jokes" everywhere.
One of the worst things about discord in general.

I agree with this.

Their patch notes are really stupid, because their sense of humor is not good. They need better writers

Ooooooh my Nitro sub just became better. Didn't know they were going to have a library of games you can play if you sign up for the service. Pretty cool.

Edit: Looks like it costs 9.99 with the games instead of the normal 4.99 without the games, but still pretty nice.

Here's the reason to use discord according to the blog post

We want to make it easier for you to find games to play with your friends. Our curated selection, editorialized content, and surfacing of social information should help you figure out which games are right for you. No need to browse endless lists of anime titles — we make it easy to find something great to play.

Steam already has this, has discord even used Steam in the last couple of years?

It's gonna increase to $10 a month though (although there's still the option to have normal nitro at its current price and current nitro members are grandfathered until 2020 if monthly, 2021 if yearly)

Has been available for me for couple of weeks. it's annoying, that since it's appearance Discord has to install an update every few hours for whatever reason.

Bigger problem is, seems like they don't have DLC support, so if you buy something like, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, you can't get DLC epxect rebuing game on GOG or Steam.

I'm all for more stores = more competition, but the timed exclusivity sucks.

I'm also curious about the DRM they are using. And what about multiplayer? Do they have cross-play with Steam?

Yeah, their "funny" changelog messages got really old after the first time.

Anyway, I see absolutely no reason to use this over Steam, and a huge number of reasons (features) the other way around.

Good selection of free games if you have Nitro. Besides that, pretty bad store overall compared to competitors.

Kind of a shame that the Nitro w/ Games is a seperate, more pricey option, though I suppose the other option would be far too good a value to be reasonable.

Oooh, De Blob 1 and 2 are free with Nitro...

Well, they don't have regional pricing in my country, so I'll continue sticking with GOG and Steam.

I own just about all those free Nitro games thanks to Humble bundle and the monthly so as someone who subs to the monthlys I don't find it to be a good offer.

Overall I don't see any reason to use it, especially since it seems they're going to just focus on the more well know indie titles.

The Nitro free(tm) game selection is actually nuts. Seems incredible value and the only thing I can see that they're doing different from Steam. Rest of the client atm seems pretty barebones unless I'm missing something. Do they have achievements or anything?

It's basically like Game Pass, except it's actually worthwhile on PC since Gamepass has... what, maybe a dozen games on Windows?
There don't seem to be achievements. Not much lost there, I guess.

Just saw Nitro is double the price if you want the games. That's gonna be a no from me. Rather just buy the few games I want when they go on sale.

It's kind of like sex in games, it seems to be a huge no-no for a lot of people for some unapparent reasons. Most likely just resistance because there were no anime-ish games on Steam for a very long time and they only started being added in recent years, which of course meant, there's tons and tons of them joining now since there's a massive backlog of them. Store 'floods' with anime titles and since then it's been cries about wanting to filter out the 'weeaboo' nonsense and 'child porn' (even though at the time no anime on games had sexual content)

I was ready to dismiss this entirely...but wow that Nitro games selection is fantastic. I'd highly recommend that library to anyone new to PC gaming.

What, really? How can that even be?

EDIT:In the blog post they mention dlc so it should be in the store

The best thing about this is Nitro. Something Steam does not offer yet, but it's only a matter of time at this point.

Seems they have the same refund policy as steam, so that's pretty cool. Should be an industry standard.

So far pretty terrible, hopefully they improve. Timed exclusives suck I'm general but they suck even more when the store is...this.

A bit weird that you can't buy games from the "Free with Nitro" selection. You either subscribe or don't get the game at all.

As someone who has enough games for a while, all this did was add some menu options that shoved my friends list down. >=(

Will check this out later even if I dont plan on buying anything immediately. Sinner launching on game pass took care of that.

It's a start, but their subscription service needs better stuff. I have gotten Soma free on the ps4, and part of so many PC bundles.

Well, I'd say Humble Monthly offers way better value, even though it's bit more expensive and trove games aren't that good, but you do get games that you'll keep each month.

It pales in comparison to Humble Monthly, where in fact most of these games have already been in one of those. But with monthly you actually own the game which is not the case here I think.
