I use just a little bit, and I put berries in it (raspberries are my go-to, but strawberries are fine too) alongside some cinnamon.

Kids add sugar to everything. That's just what they do because their taste palettes are super basic and they don't like really salty or spicy things. No reasonable adult is adding sugar to their grits lolI mean, I grew up with kids eating sweet grits for breakfast. Was never my thing but some people do eat them that way!
