It's kinda different. Google is an actual company unlike Facebook
If I were buying stock, applying for a job, or writing a contract, I would, but in everyday parlance, I just use the product name.
Exactly. I think some people incorrectly think that the Facebook platform itself was renamed Meta. Instead it's the parent company that changed its name.I mean, the company that owns Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. is named Meta, so yes I call it Meta.
Just like I call Google's parent Alphabet.
But I have to deal with these companies professionally, so the names I use actually matter.
I had to use Alphabet's Google search product to find out what Meta was.
It's a good thing the poll is so overwhelming imo.
Don't get Facebook get away with their shit by doing a rebrand.
Alphabet wasn't a rebranding, it was a new holding company created through a reorganization of the various companies that Google was previously the parent of.Only in a sardonic way.
It's a Failed Rebranding on par with "Alphabet"
Yes... But I work regularly with teams and individuals at Meta as part of my job, so...
Like it's the company name. Should I try and be cute in meetings with them and insist on continuing to call them Facebook? Lol
Really? The name is displayed in big on the splash screen when you open Instagram
