I'm wondering if they will keep hosting TI now in other places as well even if they get the seattle arena finished. Would love TI in Europe again.

Yeah TI10 needs to be in Europe
There's no reason to stay in a region whose only merit is importing talent :)

I do kinda feel like there was no offseason. TI8 ended what a couple of weeks ago and quals for the next major start next week?

Might be one reason OG decided not to participate in the first major. And if Ana will continue to play at all after the break.

I think some of the teams like Liquid played an insane amount of tournaments last year which probably takes a huge toll on the players. I think with this new system there won't be chances for teams o attend that many tournaments as last year.

I mean the Major itself isn't until November.

Top teams have to play 1 week in September and have all of October off.

1-3 weeks off
Major qualifier (1 week)
6-8 weeks off
Major Event (2 weeks)
[repeat]

I'm guessing OG will play in non-Valve events with direct invties/guaranteed prize money and modified rosters

just read a tweet somewhere, did dendi retire? Feel like it can't be true or it would be bigger news.

nah, he's not retiring

currently there are conflicting rumours about how he might move to a SEA team

I dunno, I feel like there should be a solid two months at least after TI with no valve related DotA things. No roster lock, no quals, nothing. Prevent burnout, stop oversaturation, give teams time to experiment a bit with rosters before having to lock in. As it is now there's essentially no offseason.

Haha too much travel for an online qualifier?
You do know that they need to be in the same room to play qualifiers? Well or at least in the same continent. Ana is an Australia now.

Notail streamed a bit yesterday, he looked like a guy that hasn't played much Dota in the last three weeks. So..

Seems like Valve wants teams to set their own off-season, which isn't the worst idea.

Dota more than two, less than four confirmed. Although not sure what it could be.. Dendi's new destination or could he just be trolling?

Well, wasn't the idea that the teams who qualify for the major cannot play in the attached minor? Might see some surprise new faces in the minors.

No, that's not what happened at all, on the contrary, they were actually very interested in joining OpTic, but from our understanding, the offer they accepted was something no other team could give them. We imagine there was roughly 15-20 organizations involved in wanting that particular lineup, for good reason.

Wow, so VGJS passed up Optic
Maybe they are Cloud9 or TSM or something bigger

I'll do my usual complaining about things and say that I was asking for something along the line of Ranked Roles years ago on gaf, but I think I actually respected Valve more when I thought they didn't add it because they disagreed the meta allowed it or whatever, compared to putting it behind paywall.

Boo! Synderen eliminated again... why do I have to like his and Cancel's streams when they never seem to make it with teams :/

On the up side, might get Syndren as a commentator for tournaments.
