Unannounced game *possibly* delayed for an indefinite period of time, may or may not be the case, if it is or isn't there also may be another unannounced and unknown game being announced before or after it as well.
Definitely! Both having their own specific evasions would be so great xD We'll see what happens, I remember being blown away when Leon was able to parry a chainsaw with a knife in RE4 Remake. I was like WHAT?! I hope if a RE5 Remake gets announced? We get wow moments like that. I miss co op RE and I'd love to see how a co op RE Engine Resident Evil story campaign game would look like, especially how its implented! I could also see them inserting the Lost In Nightmares and Desperate Escape into the game as well though I'd be shocked if both got full blown DLCs like Separate Ways did for RE4 Remake.
Yeah, there's a lot of improvements they can make to the gameplay of the OG.

A reliable insider in X named Omar, I can't recall exactly which remake he mentioned, but I believe it was RE5, he said they will announce it this year.
Yes? The man's leaks are always on point and I don't recall any of his leaks being wrong.
However, he wrote a tweet today saying that this Dusk leak might have messed up his infos, because it contradicts what he heard about RE9, which is that the announcement was supposed to be this year with a release date in January of next year.

If it improved the overall product to something all fans will enjoy then I'm all for it! As much as I'd love them to do one central story of the games events, I wouldnt put it past them to redo all 3-4 campaigns yet again but with better execution. I'm ready for RE5 to get some love again, even those who prefer the RE Engine style remakes.

I would be very surprised if they change the boulder punch. It's the game's meme and was even referenced in Village.
I mean...as funny as it was back in the day, there is NO way they would remove the boulder punching moment with Chris. That moment is forever linked to Chris, so much so it was referenced in RE8 when Heisenberg called him "boulder punching asshole" XD
I really hope it's Code Veronica, or they saw the delay coming and prepped ReRemake 1.

1.) RE5 was the best selling game in the history of Capcom for awhile and still sells a good amount every year.
2.) Ehhhh not really along with the fact to remake it and remove the racism it be a different game visually and such.
3.) I mean they can just make Sheva more important to the general story of RE5, unlike your first point the big theme/meme/remembrance of RE5 is Chris vs Wesker thats whats important and you can change the story to make Sheva more important and integral while still keeping that.

I hope for a RE5make precisely because of how racist that original was. Heavily rework/rewrite that shit with African writers present and to be save have Sheva be the lead (maybe even the only char) for the African sections and have Chris handle all the Wesker/conspiracy stuff.

Capcom doesn't care about Code Veronica (its also not a good game and may have the worse Cutscene in the companies history)
1) RE5 is literally still the best selling RE game.
2) It's not only about the graphics. The game feels outdated thanks to not being able to shoot and move, among other things.
3) Sheva can be expanded upon quite easily. Just like Carlos, Ashley or Luis were.
Its probably 5 remake up next, I just hope CV remake is going to happen at some point as well. Remaking flawed or less-than-great games is more interesting to me than remaking good games, and a remake could do CV wonders.
Also really interested in whatever RE9 is gonna be, honestly just really hungry for more RE right now.

They remade RE1 after 6 years... its almost 4x that since the remake
There is a lot you can do with a REremake,
1. The canon ending can finally be added to the game
2. Modern gameplay
3. Chris and Jill could have legitimately separate scenarios
4. If they really went all in on it, Rebecca, Barry and Wesker could all have their own scenarios.

RE8 was actually REV 3 then they added the Ethan storyline.
It was a awhile ago but it was confirmed by them to be a first person title. Again, that was awhile ago if I recall correctly and this game has been in dev for awhile (this was originally supposed to be RE8 but was held back as it needed retooling and a concurrently developed RE project took its place) so things could've changed.
Yea I just don't see the desire on Capcom a side. I see the desire on Era. But I don't see Capcom doing it when there are better selling games in this series they could do instead.
