Except like Szeth said, their drive worked last year. At the start of 2017 they were regularly sitting around $38k, then in March they had a big fundraising drive with their anniversary stream and they gained a significant amount of patrons and pledges. They haven't been below $40k ever since and even regularly had ~6300 patrons and $45k funds for June and July.
As for sponsorships/partnerships, if you compare EZA's sponsorship tier ($500 for the main podcast and $250 for Frame Trap) to Kinda Funny's ($10k each for their two main shows), it's pretty jarring. It's cool that it's cheap enough that we see indie devs, small business owners and even patrons pitch in but at the same time, sure seems like EZA are selling themselves extremely short.
To be honest, if it were up to me I'd get rid of the studio goal entirely. No-one knows what exactly it'll bring or change, especially when you've got Brandon out there muddying the waters by saying he'd still work from his garage, so make it more of an implied goal than an implicit one and replace it with something more tangible that they could actually do with the studio. I think something like making Frame Trap a weekly show would get fans a lot more excited, assuming that's possible and the commute time to the studio is a lot better for Ben and the other Allies.
