Bloodworth or Ben or someone from EZA, please consider making podcasts 1440p as a stopgap to 4K. It will dramatically reduce compression over 1080p, which is not doing the amazing cameras justice.
It's still a big improvement over before in dynamic range and color, but a big part of the difference we're seeing is the lighting. If you saw the Easy Update without the VHS effect, you can see how incredible that camera looks even compared to this new Frame Trap, but the actual new camera they got is just as good if not better than Ian's new camera. So, yeah, I think it's mainly just the compression not doing it favors.
Now, this may very well be personal preference, but I think the framing is just a bit too tight. You can see parts of Ian move off frame quite often and Ben's arm does sometimes too. I think it would look better if you zoomed out a little.
In regards to the weird tilted background, I think it's because they moved the desk into roughly the right spot and then framed and leveled the shot based on the desk; the problem is that the desk isn't perfectly catty-cornered to the garage. Normally, the camera is placed at a [presumably] stationary spot where the corner of the garage is directly in the middle - and it's leveled - and then they'll move the desk to roughly the right spot, where it will sometimes be leveled (if the moved the desk exactly right) or not leveled (if they just eyed it). So yeah, they need to frame it based on the corner of the garage next time FIRST and then move the desk to the right spot.
