They mention why it is missing that in the write up for BS Zelda
this revisionist history is fascinating.
Skyward Sword was universally praised, got a perfect score from Edge, and the gaf thread for GOTY 2011 had a ton of people claiming it was the greatest Zelda ever (among many other places, obviously).
Link to the Past is by FAR my least favorite Zelda game and my favorite post NES Zelda game is ranked 23rd.
But that's okay because I LOVE lists and am happy to have read this one ^^
Naw, Phantom Hourglass was far better than Spirit Tracks. The Spirit Flute alone ensures that.
Definitely. Better music too.
Also how could one forget the theme/meme of pure chaos and frustration
I finished the original Zelda last night. I think I'll skip Zelda II if Skyward Sword is better than it.
Zelda II is really good depending on your enjoyment of the difficult action platformers from the NES era like Castlevania or Ninja Gaiden. It's easy to get lost but just google the Zelda II Nintendo Player's Guide and play it with that like most people probably did back then.I finished the original Zelda last night. BotW was the first Zelda game I have played. Recently got a SNES classic and playing through link to the past. Its brilliant, and as a new player it holds up so well. Will work my way through some of the others off the list once I'm finished.
it's a highly commendable top five but the order is out of whack.05. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
04. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
03. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
02. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
01. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
It was a flattering imitation. The game was super duper well built but the content itself left something to be desired as sitting amongst the most legendary game experiences the best games in the series offer. Most of it were thematic rehashes but with inferior arrangements. Dungeons were way too short. The story was also cute but not something you got invested in. It was a great Zelda gameplay but only a decent game and yeah it was fairly unforgettable. I beat it 100% in just 19 hours. It was also bogged down by its experimentation; the rental system doesn't stand the test of time as it eventually becomes about maxing your wallet to 9999 (because rupees are everywhere) and just buy every weapon and then the rest of the game's exploration yields zero payoff because you barely encountet any mystery prior to figuring out which item solves it.i have a feeling that a link between worlds was way overrated. i literally remember nothing about the game expect the flat thing and the fact that i was underwhelmed by it.
It's one of the most influential and most important games of all time, and probably, objectively, the greatest game ever made.
There are some good mechanical changes and the repeated dungeon is definitely better, but something about ST's structure and the worse traversal made it probably my least favorite non-CDI Zelda.I'll never understand people preferring Phantom Hourglass to Spirit Tracks. The latter is better in pretty much every way.

Have only played BotW and WW.
What are the chances of them remaking ALttP?
Oh no, the others are also great. Even the lesser titles on console are of qualityA Link to the Past is the only Zelda game I've finished. I was blown away by it in 1992.
Just got a Switch this week, so Breath of the Wild is likely to be the second one I finish.
Good to know I haven't really missed anything.

How would ya'll feel if Nintendo pulled another Oracle of Season/Ages and let Capcom develop another Zelda game?
The main guy behind those Capcom games actually moved to Nintendo after directing the Minish Cap. He was director of Phantom Hourglass, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild.

It's time for Nintendo to remake Zelda 2. People are used to them trying crazy things at this point.
