Thought it was Faxanadu. Have alot of memories playing that on the NES

Hey, it is part of the series. Legacy of the Wizard, too. Nice to see such a foundational game being made available.

The Sakurai thing doesn't even surprise me. This is one of those games that inspired a generation of game designers.

Yeah, saw this a few hours ago and considered making a thread myself.

Fun fact: outside of the ending scroll, Xanadu is apparently entirely in English. Granted, that won't make it any easier to play since the game makes Simon's Quest look welcoming and logical, but hey, you can try. I'll probably grab this at some point just to poke around.

Looks like this series is bringing more PC-88 games to the west. Thexder and Runic (or was it Relic? Not familiar with that one) are already out, and Silpheed and Hydlide are coming soon. I suspect we'll see the original Ys at some point too.

Falcom's games truly did influence several devs across all of Japan that went on to create seminal works at Nintendo, Sega, Namco, Konami, etc.

Glad to see more eyes on such an important and formative game, even if it's aged poorly.

Thexder is a true banger. You can't fool me tho, no way I'm getting Xanadu, that right there's a trap.

Silpheed was supposed to drop on the 21st but it still isn't live. That's the one I really want, I wonder if they included the secret games on the back of the disk (Text mode Silpheed and the Xa-xa-xa-xa game)
