(Not my video, this is someone elses)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in September of 2019, I asked how feasible a Mirror's Edge VR game would be.

www.resetera.com

Dear EA/DICE, how feasible would Mirror's Edge VR be?

I'm very much interested in a VR version of the original Mirror's Edge. Despite being a 10+ year old game, it's a game that really has withstood the test of time. It's a masterpiece, and one of DICE's greatest games in my opinion. Myself, and several others in the small community, have voiced an...

I got some funny replies, but people seemed interested in the idea. Surprisingly, someone out there created a Mirror's Edge inspired world in VRChat and someone on youtube explored it. I can't explore it yet, I have work to go to soon but you better believe I'm going to check it out once I get home. However, all this does is make me want the real deal. In the mean time, this is probably the closest we'll get!

EA?
DICE?
*wink wink* ;)
*nudge*

Update #1:

Finally had some time to check out this world.

As soon as I loaded into the world, I had a huge grin on my face.

Mirror's Edge in VR is my ultimate pie in the sky dream, it would literally be the best video game experience ever. Mirror's Edge is my favorite game of all time.

Hopping into this as soon as I possibly can.

Neat, going to check it out later.

Mirror's Edge VR would be great. Sairento has some of the movement down (jumping, wall-running, crouch-sliding, etc) but it's not the same sort of experience.

I need to get a VR just for this. I love Mirror's Edge (the first one) and its world.

It's a cool little world. It's not perfect as you can see from one of the screenshots. The streets look grey, like a void.

But for what's there, I like it.

What's with all of the people sleeping in VR on this service? Fascinating.

Oh the sleep worlds? I've been playing VRChat for several years but the whole sleeping worlds are kinda new to me.

It's for people who take VR to the next level and actually sleep with their VR headsets on. At least that's what I understand.

I hope you get around to building that VR capable PC! I invested in VR several years ago, and now its part of gaming I can't afford to miss.

Its been such a game changer for me, I still play my consoles and PC games, but I always try to make time for VR gaming as well.

I explored other game worlds in VRChat too! If you missed them, you can find them here:

*Bzzzt* This...is...*Radio Static* Heart from inside the Astral Plane! (Astral Chain x VRChat)

Ah, great! It seems I've connected to ResetERA! It's very difficult to get a connection here! I was in pursuit of a Chimera, but I lost track of it. Luckily, I have not run into any other Chimera in the area. I'm currently exploring my surroundings, the Astral Plane is incredible...

I explore the world of Xenogears in VR! (VRChat - Image Heavy)

In all of its PS1 glory. Never thought I'd see the day where I can enter the world of a legendary classic! A classic that I have played through maybe 3 or 4 times over the years. The world is still a WIP, the creator has quite a lot of work to do but for what's there, it's really cool! I...

I explored the world of Xenoblade 2, in Virtual Reality. (Spoilers Ahead)

Update #1: I'm a pretty big fan of Xenoblade 2, and also a pretty big fan of VR. Little did I know, I would go on an amazing and unexpected adventure. I wanted to share them with you all! Please keep in mind, the screenshots you're about to see are from the end of the game, or near the end...

I didnt know that was possible in VRChat - is that a tool like dreams except for VR?!

Yes and no. VRChat is just more akin to a Unity level/model loader with a good networking system. You create worlds/rig models in Unity and then use those in VRChat, and that's basically it.

So basically, you make the stuff in Unity and then upload it to VRChat's servers, from which on you simply turn on VRChat and load what you uploaded in it to explore it. Scripting and so is possible, but it's all created in Unity and the finished product is then displayed by VRChat.

To add onto this, some people use tools outside of Unity as well in order to create things, such as Blender, Mixamo, avatar creation programs, etc.

People make some really impressive worlds, or bring in worlds you'd never expect.

Thats amazing thank you for the information. Is it easy to create levels in unity?

I managed to reach a building I saw out in the distance.

You're not supposed to be there as it creates some issues and oddities but I wanted to see how everything looked.

Damn, I need to try it.
ME is one of my GOATs.
Are the environments only from ME1 or do they also have things from ME2?

This is pretty much me. I don't even have a VR headset yet but if Mirror's Edge VR was announced I would go out and buy the hardware immediately.
