Excellent news. Glad to see we're moving towards a release date. Loved all three seasons.

I just rewatched the movie Fargo yesterday (maybe the 20th time) and while I still think the shows are overall successful, I still believe there is something missing from the series. Both the show and the movie are at points funny, serious, suspenseful, quirk, and tragic. Each season of the show has a talented cast and a narrative that varies in its effectiveness depending on which season you're talking about.

To me at least (can't speak for anyone else), the movie is about how the seedier elements of the world can creep into and destroy a seemingly normal existence. The story should be simple and straightforward with relatable characters who make choices that either bring them at odds with this dark, nihilistic side of humanity or in league with it.

I don't really like the show involving so many parties like the mob or shadow organizations, what have you. I definitely don't like the introduction of elements that couldn't happen in real life. Fargo the movie was a stretch of a story that mirrored the affable personalities of the people you see on screen. There wasn't anything that couldn't happen.

I wish they would not try to one-up themselves and just take the series back to something very simple.

This is intriguing.

So Season 5 to take place in 2019, and Season 6 to take place during the Depression?

I've never seen this show but if Andrew GOD DAMN Bird is in it, then it's time to catch up.
Just FYI, each season has an entirely different cast and story, set in a different location and time. And the seasons are mostly disconnected narratively (though they all share common themes).

So you don't necessarily have to watch the first three seasons to prepare for season 4. But they're great, and if you're looking for something to watch, by all means, go for it.

That's great news. All of the first 3 seasons were fantastic. I'm still amazed at Martin Freeman's transformation in S1, it was Walter White style and great acting.

I need to watch Fargo. I got excited when I heard Season 2 was in Luverne, MN which is a super small town about 15 minutes from where I grew up. But then I heard that they didn't film there so I would constantly be taken out of the story.

Real excited for this. Only watched Season 3 recently and loved it. IMO every season has been better than the last so I'm hopeful that trend will continue.

Happy there's more on the way. Between Fargo and Saul 2020 is shaping up to be a great year for weird-crime drameties.

Never got around to season 3, maybe I should. Loved season 1, and season 2 was good; would've been exceptional if that irrelevant shit wasn't included (those who've seen the season know what I'm referring to).

Yeah I'm a lil skeptical on Rock doing this kind of role but who knows maybe he'll knock it out of the park. Cautiously optimistic for now.

They are filming 3 blocks from my house... 5 semi trucks are in front of my house... old time cars 1920-1940's I would guess. They were filming at 6:30AM CST today... through Wednesday night.

Chris rock isn't a good straight man
Eddie Murphy or someone who could be more subdued would have been fun

Oddly I'd like a season with Jim carrey

Sorry for the bump, but I'm watching the new A Christmas Carol on FX and they just played a quick teaser for season 4! I tried to find it online, but couldn't--wouldn't be surprised if this was the premiere but I can't be sure. The end said coming Spring 2020. We're getting there people, we're getting there.

Passes the initial eyeball test to me.

Season 3 looked weak from the start, but I just hoped the quality of the previous season would eventually shine through, but ultimately didn't.
