I know this has been made in the past, but I don't think the last time covered all of the major Pikachu designs, so this is a more complete listing.
(Pic-heavy for examples so I've just stuck them all under quotes).
Proto-chu
This was the prototype version of Pikachu with a round belly and sometimes oval cheeks, only seen on old TCG and promo art.
Chubby-chu
The original, finalized design that we all remember well. Butterball with sometimes a super-long tail.
Modern-chu
The newer, slimmer design.
PokeCen-chu
A newer design where Pikachu has a circular head, and used a lot in Pokemon Center merch, and even on the cover of Let's Go Pikachu.
Realistic-chu
Detective Ryan Reynolds.
Giga-Chu
Pikachu in all its GigaMax glory.
Other-Chu
The other many varieties that Pikachu comes in, like Ditto-chu. Or collaborations with specific art designs, like LINE.
Despite all the looks Pikachu has gone through over the years, I STILL prefer those original, prototype Sugimori designs. It's such an early 90's anime creature look and I love it! Just wish it got a bit more use out of just a few art pieces...
