Would the Supreme Court even bother to hear this case? Seems unlikely.
I wouldn't be concerned. This ruling was reached after a single hearing and the arguments by Trump's team are even more laughable than usual.
Is this good news or is this going nowhere like everything involving Trump always does?

I've read that Trump's lawyer says they will appeal, though I don't see confirmation of that. Of course they will though. Obstruction is in their nature.

Numb. What makes anyone think this is the subpoena they're going to finally comply with?
The federal courts. If necessary it will go to SCOTUS. If the appeal is finally lost, the firm will have to hand over the documents, and will do so.

Courts do not generally try to make rulings on the "legislative purpose" of congressional subpoenas, because it's Congress' prerogative to write legislation based on what they know. In a situation where executive privilege does not apply, any judge worth his salt will side with Congress.
The subpoena isn't to Trump or the WH or any part of the executive branch, it's to private citizens who have no special protection under the law.
I'm thinking SCOTUS will likely take a pass on this. It doesn't even involve the White House or anything involving executive privledge.

It means the committee will be given the documents unless a judge stays the decision pending appeal, which this judge didn't do.
Yep. The tactic here was not to "win", because both parties know this is open-and-shut. Their tactic was merely to stall through litigation, which didn't work because the ruling was expedited.
Company they are asking the returns from is a private business. Trump has no legal recourse to block congress from getting them but they are trying anyways. In a case like this the time it takes for appeals to take place congress likely will already have the returns already (The judge said they are required to give the returns, and not pending an appeal). This was a stall tactic that failed.
It's definitely going to happen. This appeal was just a Hail Mary.
