Tekken got easy with a bigger mainstream appeal after SFV being a letdown to a lot of people. Next entry the honeymoon phase will be over and both bad netplay and lack of tutorial will become bigger complaints if casual players keep buying it.

Testing RPCS3 has revealed to me just how wonky the PC port of SFIV really is. No support for resolutions over 1080p and the shadows are crazy low res. Still better than the console versions were at the time, but it could have been so much better.

Yes. You can pick 4K res but it just stretches out a 1080p image.

Edit: My current monitor is only 1440p, but even there you can see the PC version isn't rendering at native 1440p.

Shigen could still combo into his throws didn't he? My memory is hazy on that, but I know Juzo can combo into his throws.

From all the characters with command throws in that game, Shigen is easily the less practical. He is better when played in speed instead of power. IIRC he cant command throw from a light attack, meanwhile Zantetsu and others can.

Hehehe, just a simple jump in strong slash, strong slash and special move does 33% damage. Looks like the crunch didnt leave much time to the SNK staff to balance the game.

I wish this push for rollback netcode happened earlier.

I'm realizing that being stuck at home during a stay at home mandate, with me, my partner, and seemingly everyone in the goddamn neighborhood on that work from home schedule, does not result in very good internet a lot of times. This pretty much punts 90% of my fighting game library out of the equations right now.

Power rangers battle for the grid is down for scheduled server maintenance today but they also posted patch notes to a small update with some minor balance tweaks. Looks like Quantum got some better link timings between blasters and sword.

So, this week would have been the week of the SNK World Championship Finals, but due to COVID-19, it has been postponed to an unknown date.

More to the point, it's been heavily rumored that the debut trailer for KOF XV would be shown at this event. I wonder if we'll get that trailer this weekend, as what may have been the original plan, or if it will come at an unknown later date.

At this point, if they have a trailer ready to go, it should be released sooner than later. No sense in waiting for a big event that may not happen or be postponed again, and people are starving for news and entertainment anyway.

vat used to have a fairly slow B drill to compensate for what most players consider some major buffs (38f A flash kick charge, better 2A stagger window) except that the latest patch reverted B drill to it's unreactable ST status where jump height determined how fast it goes. This means that certain setups lead to a 5f overhead that's impossible to reaction block and can be used with gems + 2C in order to create a high/low mix.

he's not bad but I would rate him around top 6-7 before 1.03. 66C got a big startup nerf, lost the 4th hit and no longer gaplessly transitions into a special, meaning people with a 5f button that shield the last hit can punish it. They nerfed the bonkers 1f post-CS parry he used to have so he can no longer just punish you for doing anything after he does CS. Solid mid tier now.
